Teams like USL won't be able to demand one home game for two road games against schools like Wake Forrest and Indiana since they will have more conference games.

Totally agree with this. The one negative will be the possible elimination of games like that. Teams like ULL will still get to travel to play these teams though so there will still be a financial windfall available.

Couldn't disagree more with this. The Dome had an absolutely terrible atmosphere for Tulane games. On-Campus stadium will be very nice. Tulane has a very nice campus and the tailgating on-campus will provide a much more attractive recruiting tool than the atmosphere surrounding the dome.

The Dome was not a good setup for Tulane in any way.

Even with getting the leftover talent in this state, Tulane should be a 7 win team every year. Playing in the dome gives them a recruiting advantage over a Southern Miss, ULL or McNeese.

Couple this with playing in an NFL stadium that a Bama or Ole Miss would visit, both fan bases love NO, and you may sway some athletes in their direction.

Have you been asleep since the 70s? None of this happened over the last 40 years which is why Tulane built its own stadium on campus.

When they moved in the Dome, they were much closer to the days when they were in the SEC... They probably thought if they still had a good team they'd be a bigtime program

Wilson Center getting pressure-washed and painted. Stadium itself looks basically done, although I"m sure there is still plenty of finish work. I just hope no one dies from heatstroke at the 3pm game!

Looks a lot like Hofstra's stadium from the few pics I've seen. Dinky-arse aluminum affair.

Exterior looks done, seating and field looks done.

The interior press box, clubs, suite, walkways, vendor locations and concessions areas are not even close to done.

It is like a freshly detailed car right now but the engine is knocking, the brakes need replacing and oil is burning off.

It will look better eventually but the point is there is a lot of work left to be done that people don't see and only 14 days left. Lots of work,.

I think CJ just said on the coaches show that they will not be using the sideline with the sun in their face.

Even during Tulane's undefeated '98 season, they only averaged around 30k in attendance at the Dome. I'm a proud TU grad, but people who are bitching that Yulman will be too small need to remember that actual attendance at last year's home games was in the four digits. It's my understanding that if Tulane can put together a few impressive seasons, attendance-wise, they can add several thousand more seats.

The problem for tulane is that the vast majority of their alumni base lives outside of Louisiana. They will need to maintain some success/competitiveness so they can add some bandwagon Nola fans.

That's part of why the stadium is being built in the first place. When I was growing up, Tulane always had dedicated following from New Orleans, not necessarily Tulane grads. All you have to do is remember the bar in the former Ye Olde College Inn. The new stadium will hopefully have the same effect that the old Tulane Stadium used to have.

Because the West side borders a neighborhood that Tulane tried unsuccessfully to appease by putting themselves at a competitive disadvantage and their home fans in the sun. Dumb arse liberal appeaser apologist.

Nationally relevant. A program someone on either coast who loves the sport would consider interesting to talk about for positive reasons. That is, as good as they could be in baseball, capable of winning a national championship if things break right for them. Surely you don't argue going to a bowl means relevance. The lesser bowls often cost their schools more to attend than they generate in revenue. They (Tulane) presently have a completely stupid and inadequate situation in full blown retard mode going on at Tulane. A 20K stadium is just a waste of space and donor money that won't do anything more than obligate them to throw more good money after bad in the future. They should completely change course and move to a lower division, stop pretending they are more like LSU than Williams and readjust their approach to their athletics.
you are dead wrong on Tulane. Tulane made the right move, build a small but nice stadium. Boosters are paying big bucks for seats, students are actually excited, and they get to keep all the money they make. Playing in an off campus stadium will kill any program (I.e Miami and Pitt).
