Can we get Schaeffer back on the juice?

he definitely needs it

ETA reports are he's actually looking good right now and will be ready if called upon this year, but I don't buy it.

FWIW, I agree with you on Cain. But reports that I am hearing are that we are done with offseason moves.

Yeah I don't think we'll do it either

I only wish

I can be satisfied going into next year with this team though. We'll be right back in the hunt.

I loved Fredi's reaction to the trade. (at least the rumor I heard).

Wren calls Fredi and says we can get Uggla for Omar and Dunn.

Fredi says "and who else"

Wren says "No one"

Fredi says "Do it"

Correct me if I'm wrong but it kind of sounds like Cain would be a guy who could hit at the top of the lineup, maybe 1, and steal some bases if we need him to.

Thats one thing we missed this year. Prado was a great guy leading off, but we could use some speed up there that can maybe turn a walk into a double. I also like Prado further down the lineup maybe 2 or 5 to drive in runs.

That would be sweet.

Is the kid gonna bat in the 3 hole this year or is that still reserved for Chipper?

Yep, he is

It doesn't seem like much but I honestly think a guy at the top that can steal 30+ bases and be a productive hitter is what this team needs to go from good to great. We won't win a WS without one.

We haven't had one in so long

Yeah I agree with giving up jj. I'm sure this deal is dead but I wish we could get one more outfielder. I don't see it happening though.

I still think this team is one piece away from truly contending for a championship.

Pretty sure I saw where Fredi said Chip will be in the 3 hole when he's playing which is fricking stupid

Chip is the absolute PERFECT two hole hitter right now. He's just not a run producer anymore. He's still going to get on base 40% of the time which would be so valubale in the two. Let Heyward, Uggla, and Mac sit in the middle and drive him and Prado in

I know its early, but if JJ stays, who is going to be looked upon as #5 in the rotation?

Will it be Beachy or Minor, or maybe someone else that I'm missing?

Yeah it will be Minor or Beachy with Minor winning the job IMO

They value Minor a lot more. I think Beachy has moved to the top of our trade piece list

In 2012 is where things are going to get interesting

Not only are you still going to have Lowe, Hudson, JJ, and Hanson under contract. Teheran, Delgado, and even Vizcaino could all be ready for the bigs. Add in there Minor, Medlen, and Beachy.

Geez, and we're reluctant to trade any of those guys

You're thinking of Medlen. But yeah, Medlen won't be back until late August or September which sucks. He's valuable
