Yeah? Might need to use words if you disagree. Curry was a great player and deserved to be recognized as one of the best in the league, and in many ways THE BEST in the league this season, but I know just as well as many that its not basketball reasons that people voted Curry over Harden. The way Curry got pimped put him over Harden IMO, and Golden State was a far more covered team than the Rockets. That is completely separate from the individual basketball skill comparisons. Its the same concept with All-Star voting, but yes i know its a bunch of fans voting....but its still a race of 1st) who has the numbers?, and then 2nd) who appeals to the most people? The 2nd part being the kicker. There isnt a better way currently, so it is what it is.

No, Im saying he earned the award based on his play,but the popularity factor was the biggest role. If Harden had won it , then I would say the same, but Harden was never pimped out like Curry, so it was never something I thought would come even close to happening. Curry deserves recognition MVP or not, and so does Harden. Im not saying Curry doesnt deserve the award, Im just saying the award is devalued if its given out because of reasons aside from basketball skill no matter who wins it. We know Harden and Curry and Westbrook and Paul and LeBron all deserved great recognition, and its far too hard to objectively compare them, so it came down to other factors. Again not saying AT ALL that Curry didnt deserve the award. Do not attribute that statement to me because I did not say that, you are assuming that.
ETA: Summary
You have 4-5 guys who all played a season worthy of receiving the award, and its disappointing that we only give the award to one person because there were several other deserving candidates.

I do not think Curry is the MVP of his own team this season actually. If he goes down they can still win. If Bogut gets hurt they are in deep trouble.
Not saying that Curry does not deserve the award, but I think as Bogut goes the Warriors go.
I would rather have Thompson than Curry also.

You obviously need to have good numbers to have a high PER, but just because one player has a higher PER does not mean they are the better basketball player.
If one guy has a PER of 28.2, and the other guy has a PER of 27.7, are you telling me that it's a fact that the first guy with a PER of 28.2 is the better basketball player?

Harden was more versatile defensively (he would often have success against 4's),

I know I've seen Haberstroh, or one of those guys tweet a few times, and I think they were top 10 post trade.
In fact, they finished the season 18th, and I know they were like mid 20s pre-trades, so that alone would tell me they weren't 20th in that span.

He never plays extended minutes at the 4. But if a PF is doing well against the Rockets, McHale will put Harden on him to mix it up, and Harden does well most of the time.
Harden is a surprisingly good post-up defender.
