Is this some kind of effort to contain Boom in this thread and out of the draft thread?

Would be nice if OP could also keep his Yankees talk here too instead of bringing them up in every other unrelated thread.

Jordan wasn't himself, it was obvious watching the game. he didn't make the players around him better. had he been with the Bulls the full season they win another championship

Nope. Jordan wasn't as good in 1995 as he was in the years leading up to that, but he wasn't far off of what he did in the second 3-peat either.

Those Rocket teams weren't full of studs, but they turned it up in the playoffs. They had to go through some pretty damn good teams. You can try and argue that the Bulls would have won the East in 1994 and 1995, but that doesn't mean they would have won the championship. They went to 6 games in 5 of the NBA Finals appearances, so it's not like they were just dismantling everyone that came out of the West back then.

Mad max was athletic enough to give Jordan some (see the word some?) trouble, more than most against mj ... If he didn't do something bizarre and foul out in the first quarter ...

Should the Warriors have an asterisks by their championship? They beat an injury depleted team that proved to be better at full health.

No. Because just like the OP. Thats fricking stupid.

CC beat 4 teams all with a minimum of 57 regular season wins on the way to the title in 95, that has never been done before or since.

Rockets had a winning percentage of .833 against the Bulls in the 3 seasons that they won the title before Jordan retired (1991, 1992, and 1993).

The Rockets were a horrible match-up for the Bulls. They owned them.

Even if Jordan never retired, there is a very good chance the Rockets would have beaten them anyway... (assuming the Bulls even make the Finals).

You don't get an asterisk simply due to someone from another team being retired or injured.

Now, if you win championships with key pitchers (Roger Clemens, Andy Pettite) that are known to intentionally break the rules, then that's a conversation worth having.

rules were not broken at the time as MLB had no testing policy against it

Definitely

As should the '89 Pistons, '99 Spurs, '02 Lakers, '06 Heat, '07 Spurs, etc.

Every other championship team should have an asterisk because their path to a title wasn't how some people thought it ought to be.

* for the '16 Cavs. Jordan was definitely more "himself" in those playoffs than Steph was in the Finals.

A year earlier Congress had raised penalties for possessing those and 25 other anabolics. But now the stuff violated baseball's rules, too. On June 7, 1991, commissioner Fay Vincent sent a memo to each team and the players union that stated: "The possession, sale or use of any illegal drug or controlled substance by Major League players or personnel is strictly prohibited ... This prohibition applies to all illegal drugs ... including steroids." The seven-page document didn't cover random testing -- that had to be bargained with the union -- but it did outline treatment and penalties.
