I hope my Bucs draft him.

I can't recall ever seeing a qb do that to a ref before. Definite flag possible ejection IMO.

this

I've never seen a player just push a ref out from standing over the ball like that.

I've seen much less draw a flag before and am really surprised he didn't draw one there.

Yeah, he should've been flagged and possibly ejected.

Not sure why it's even up for debate.

The ones defending this incident are either blind or dumb or maybe a little of both. The guy walks up and literally moves the ref out of the way. He shouldve been ejected.

Winston comments on the play:

I was trying to get up under there and let it ride."

Not a Florida State fan, but the ref is supposed to stand over the ball, not try and prevent the QB from getting under center.

You can't intentionally push a ref, that's 15 and an automatic ejection.

This is a tough one for me. The intent of the rule is to keep players from getting physical with referees over calls and such. Jameis was simply trying to get to the other side of the ref. When a player runs into a ref during a play, it is obviously not a penalty. I think this move by Jameis falls somewhere in between pushing a ref after a play and running into a ref during a play.

The issue is refs get in the way all the fricking time. If a player shoved a ref out of the way everytime they were sitting down the ball/right there in the play before the ball is snapped it'd be a free for all.

Should've been an ejection.
