A player cannot intentionally push an official for any reason. The official is standing over the ball prior to the snap. Officials are part of the field during the play, then a player can run into one on accident, but a player cannot intentionally push an official out of the way like that.

Yea I'm assuming all posters that were defending Jameis either didn't see the video or were huge FSU fans. Those are literally the only two ways someone could justify that.

Did Jamies really say that the media or whomever when they would blow teams out say they downgraded them and compared it to this season barley winning against teams. I don't remember people "downgrading" them last year. Thought consensus last year was that they were legit and unbeatable. Maybe I heard him wrong.

Don't think it's ejection worthy but there should have absolutely been a flag.

The issue I have with Jameis is that he just doesn't seem to think before he acts, and this incident is just another in a long string of examples of that.

Yeah herbie just confirmed what I heard and said basically that Winston was a fricking idiot and had no idea what he was talking about.

Really really dumb. Definitely should have been flagged.

Of course not. The guy deserves a break. I mean, he didn't rape him!

The issue is refs get in the way all the fricking time. If a player shoved a ref out of the way everytime they were sitting down the ball/right there in the play before the ball is snapped it'd be a free for all.

Should've been an ejection.

True. Honestly, it probably should have been an ejection, but like every single thing that happens to Jameis, I can actually see his side a little bit.

The best is once Winston shoves him out of the way and gets under center, he looks back at the ref like, "Mayne, bisch, get outa my way."

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for Jimbo and Jameis' conversation after the game.

Good thing he didn't do this. He would have been ejected. LINK

True, touching a Ref while arguing with them with a ref is an auto ejection.

Oddly enough, in that same video the Arkansas player grabbed the official arm and didn't get called.

The problem is the refs weren't going to throw a flag and eject a player for what Winston did. Their was no malicious intent

You can't just throw a flag and not eject a player. Its all or nothing.

I do distinctly remember Tony Romo slapping the butt of a ref and not getting ejected from the game.

LOL.

He shoved a ref = automatic 15 yard penalty / 10 second time run off.

The center also moved which should have been a false start.

I wonder what jameis said to the ref when he turned back to the ref. I know i'm biased, but a gator player did that i would be ok with a flag, or ejection.
