Over half of the league makes the playoffs and he plays in by far the weaker conference.

And it had to be a team that was so injury riddled, that they had to put D-Leaguers like Blake Ahearn on the roster.

Durant and Garnett are basically go-to guys, whereas Wade and Pippen always succeeded as second fiddle.

even when shaq was on the heat, wade was the #1 guy.

2006 FINALS
1. Dwyane Wade, Miami, 2006

It's hard to overstate how awesome Wade was in leading the Heat to their lone championship, particularly in the final four games when Miami rallied from a 2-0 deficit to stun the Mavs.

Wade started the comeback by leading the Heat back from a 13-point fourth quarter deficit in Game 3, scoring 12 points in the final 6½ minutes to send the game to OT. He also made the biggest play of the series with his crazy dribbling foray to the rim at the end of overtime in Game 5 that -- controversially -- earned a whistle from referee Bennett Salvatore and a trip to the line for the winning free throws.

For the series, Wade averaged 34.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.7 steals -- and this in a slow-paced series (neither team cleared the century mark in regulation in any of the six games). His basket attacks were so deadly because the Mavs couldn't stop fouling him. Wade shot a whopping 97 free throws in the six games -- the most of any player since the merger -- including 25 in Game 5.

Overall, Wade's 33.8 PER is easily the best of any Finals performer since the merger. While it seems strange to have somebody besides Michael Jordan in the top spot, the truth is Jordan never dominated a Finals to this extent. At the time, many called Wade's performance Jordanesque. It turns out they might have been selling him short.

Article is from 2012, but I wanted to find the stats from his Finals run.

This is the series where he went to the free throw line over 15 times a game, and no one questioned it. It's laughable that people complain about Harden doing it in the regular season when D-Wade did it in the finals

If by no one, you mean everyone questioned it, I agree.

In a perimeter oriented league, it would be damn hard to pass up one of the best perimeter defenders of all time that can give you very good production on the offensive end and has proven he can play second fiddle to a volume scorer.

You could really make a case for any order of the 4 honestly.

KG
Pippen
Wade
Durant

If I had to pick, I'd weight the defense a little more than most I suppose. I just don't think the offensive drop off is anywhere near the defensive drop off.

Garnett
Durant/Wade

Durant/Wade are interchangeable on the list.

all you people putting Pippen last would probably Shaq over Hakeem.

The correct answer IS Pippen.

Pippen has a 20+ PER in 7 of 17 seasons.

Wade has only been under 20 once.

Durant only under 20 his rookie season from his 3rd season until now has been better than Pippen's best season. Durant and Pippen aren't even comparable.

Pippen is overrated, imo mostly because people say that he was underrated.

Uses Pippen's lower PER as a single means of discrediting him.

Discredits PER as a single means of discrediting Davis.

Classic Boom.

Pippen could play and guard 1-4. He could lock down any 3 point shooter; he was more athletic and explosive than the other guys(wade may be a push, but Scottie wins because of size); he was the court general, he controlled the clock and the pace of the game like none other; he had more killer instinct than all the other guys.

That's a lot of arbitrary stuff right there. Give me some facts

Court general with a killer instinct that can control the clock. Did you run out of cliches?
