If Kevin Garnett had been drafted by the Spurs and Duncan by the T-Wolves, Garnett would be considered the better player between the two.

The NFL is not an entertaining league any more. I miss elaborate end zone dances and being able to hit an offensive player.

Greg Popovich is the best coach in the history of the NBA.

This is more of a hot take than an opinion, and it more of a "if we knew then" idea:

If there was a 4-team playoff in 2004, neither USC nor Oklahoma wins the NC.

And Auburn doesn't win it either.

This is one of mine as well.

As for my others:
-I don't mind the 68 team NCAAT format with play-in games.

-I don't like college baseball that much

(I guess those may not be unpopular here but wasn't too sure)

lots of tv time outs and commercial breaks too (although there's some lengthy timeouts in CFB games too).

The NBA is the most interesting professional league and will be the most popular in 20 years. Especially when you start to have less quarterbacks that look like Tom Brady because their parents don't want the brain injuries.

Soccer is the second most interesting sport to watch but the MLS is ruining growth in the US because of its subpar play. Americans should just go to Europe and only come back here over age 35.

Major League lacrosse will one day be bigger than the NHL. It's also the perfect field sport. Hopefully more black kids play.

If the BCS Committee had chosen Okie Lite instead of Alabama, we may still have the BCS instead of the CFP.

Fox sports coverage isn't the worse, but it is slightly less irritating than bias on CBS.

Bob Costas is a little liberal-spewing shite and adds nothing strategic to the telecast. I was happy when he got pink eye during the Sochi 2014.

The World Cup should be held every other year, with competitions like Euro, Copa, and Gold Cup during the off years.

If soccer sized down the field by ~25% and 1 man per team, It'd be both a slightly higher scoring game and the US would probably like it.

Hockey is an absolutely fascinating display of human physique and skill, probably better than soccer. But because it requires a massive investment in equipment (and stadiums) it will never become popular.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs were more fascinating than the NBA Finals this year (minus OKC spoiling the Spurs, few saw that coming).

Soccer will become 'Big' in the U.S. before Basketball becomes huge overseas. UNLESS, the US Mens National team finally gets dethroned in the Olympics and worldwide tournaments.

The US Mens Soccer team is horribly overrated.

When Villanova upset Georgetown in 1985, Villanova was the bad guys.

Replace Emmitt Smith with Barry Sanders and the 90s Cowboys do worse.

Sanders would have came out on 3rd downs because he was a terrible blocker and a average at best receiver. He also would have not used that "GREAT" oline because of his running style. BTW that great oline only has one Hall of Fame(Larry Allen), so how is it so great? Emmitt had 3 rushing titles before Allen got there with a bunch of free agents. What I am saying Barry Sanders was a one trick pony and as a complete running back, he was very overrated.

MLB honoring "Jackie Robinson Day" is just an attempt to sell jerseys.

Lennox Lewis beats any version of Mike Tyson

A LA Tech friend from back in the day gave me this opinion, and I am with him on it.

If LA Tech doesn't lose in overtime to Oklahoma in the Sweet Sixteen, they make it all the way to national championship game and lose to Georgetown.

I still don't know how Tisdale's shot went in after it looked like it was going to roll off the rim about three times. Go to the 1:12 mark. LINK

You really think Utah would have won the national championship that year? Why?

Some of these unpopular opinions are more like who gives a shite opinions.

It can really only be unpopular if OTHER people actually would ever think the opposite. Which some of these "opinions" I would venture to say are never thought of by anyone except the poster him or her self

The original BCS formula with the computer rankings that relied heavily on strength of schedule was the best system for CFB. Then they started tweaking it to bring back pollster bias and ruined it again.

Agree. I wish the BCS would've just expanded to 4 instead of the stupid committee we have now.

Utah was 6 in the final standings that year before the bowls. Texas was 4 and Cal was 5. I think Cal would have had a great shot in a neutral site rematch with USC. They lost 23-17 at USC that year despite outgaining them by over 200 yards.

Alabama/Auburn by about 5 miles, and Army/Navy.

Honestly, the Iron Bowl probably doesn't move the meter much outside of the south.
And let's be honest, Army/Navy hasn't meant anything since the 40s.
