Football as we know it will not survive the brain injury issue. The game will either change or the game will suffer from reduced interest as fewer kids play. More controversial will be how the middle class bails on participating in the sport while the poor continue to play seeking the opportunity.

Ncaa championship games on Monday nights reduces the college sports experience and tradition. Screw ESPN.

LSU as an institution has been forced into survival mode where medicrity is better than dying. The culture of excellence is dead. The excitement of becoming a tier 1 university is the past. It's foolish to expect the athletic programs to buck this reality and win titles. Maybe miles pulls it off this season, but that will be the last hurrah of a prior era.

Dan Marino is the greatest QB in football history.

(Corollary: Judging individual players by team accomplishments is one of the stupidest concepts ever)

No one, and I mean no one, gives a shite about NFL player safety/CTE/concussions. Stop trying to make the game safer (i.e. "worse). Give us our violence back.

Don't know how unpopular this opinion is as, past high school, this is pretty much how it is now.

Malone, not Duncan, is the greatest power forward of all time.

Soccer is the best sport( the rest of the world agrees)

Rugby is a better game than American football and I wish it would take over.

to go along with this NFL is a pain to watch, college is slightly better.

tennis golf and NHL are all better than NBA and MLB shite so are some eSports

NBA is just a bunch of freaks in a court, im more impressed by the height and physical stature of the players than them actually playing the sport. examples: AD and his unibrow, Shaq

Hate everything about MLB

1) Lawrence Taylor is the most overrated player in the history of sports. How can he "revolutionize football" when Rickey Jackson started his career the same year and Andre Tippet started one year later? And Bum Phillips and Jerry Glanville were doing edge speed blitzes waaaaayyyy before 1981. If LT was a Saint and Rickey Jackson played in New York, we'd be talking about Rickey Jackson as the greatest of all time today.

2) Les Miles may not be a pimple on Nick Saban's arse, but he is far from being an idiot, and his offensive philosophy wins far more games than it loses.

3) There is nothing special about the Rose Bowl. Okay, maybe the view.

4) Sean Payton's ego and horriffic personnel decisions are more responsible for the Saints' downfall than Bountygate.

5) Ohio State-Michigan is AT BEST the 3rd best rivalry in college football, it could be argued that it could be lower, and nothing memorable has come out of those games in recent history except an occasional Heisman pose.

I'll agree with most of that. I will say that I'd rather watch the NBA over tennis and golf.

The NFL is as corrupt as FIFA and they have destroyed their own product. 20 years from now the NFL won't exist

I don't like the Cubs at all

I thought it was just "Lebron" not "LeBron"

If you get hit by a foul ball, puck, etc because you're playing with your phone during a game, you shouldn't be allowed any medical attention

Never understood the LeBron/MJ debate. Magic is a much better comparison. LeBron>>>>Magic.

Joe Buck/Troy Aikman are great. Because everybody bitches about Joe being too boring or smug & Aikman being biased, Phil Simms still has a job somehow.

Barry Sanders was one of the best football players ever, but wasn't a very good running back. He was bad at hitting a hole & his vision at the line of scrimmage was bad.

Bill Snyder is a top 5 CFB coach of all time.

Bill Russell is one of the most overrated players.

I posted this yesterday:

Russell played at a time when there were only 8 teams in the league. He was also on a team where all of the starters and even the 6th man is in the hall of fame.

He also only averaged 15.1 ppg for his career in an average of 42 minutes per game.. and that was on only 44% shooting. That's bad for a big man.

Per 36 he only averaged 12.8 points per game. His TS% was .471... that's god-awful.

I don't care how good he was on defense, his offensive game was not good.

That might be fine for an all-star... but we're talking about all-time greats. He doesn't cut it. You have to be great on both sides of the ball to be considered one of the best of all time.

Saban and Meyer are already the greatest CFB coachesin ALL IF HISTORY. To win 8 of the last 13 NCs with FOUR DIFFERENT TEAMS in an era where you have to win it on the field and not have voters just give it to you speaks to their level of dominance.

Barry Bonds is the best baseball player over the last 50 years.

I don't even think that's really up for debate.

Unless Ted Williams falls into that 50 years, which I don't think he does.

I think I got the most votes in the "biggest board contrarian" thread, so it seems most of my opinions are not the popular opinion.

This I can get on board with. Tons of respect at what he was able to accomplish. Only a select few coaches ever could have had that kind of success at K-State.

And Steve Spurrier is the most overrated coach in CFB history and Exhibit A for "Defense wins championships." He couldn't even win one in the USFL, a league where Bobby Hebert and Jim Mora have rings. His only title was the result of a gift rematch with FSU.
