I say let him posthumously and make him aware that he can be up to be let in after he passes.
Isn't that implied in "lifetime" ban?

No. And that's why Joe Jackson still isn't in the HOF. And unlike Rose, there's not even any real proof that he did anything wrong.

Jackson signed a document supposedly admitting he was guilty, yet he could not read and some say he could not write.

Another reason why I can't stand MLB. Hypocrisy.

What hypocrisy? They have held firm on this since the 1910's.

Btw, anyone know why he signed the agreement in the first place? What was in it for him? What leverage did they have?

Because they had mountains of evidence against him and the agreement was that he would admit to it all, sign the agreement admitting it, and MLB wouldn't publish their mountain of evidence.

So he signed the agreement and the scumbag proceeded to STILL accuse MLB and Giamatti of being liars for years and years and years.

But you know who the liar was all along? PETE frickING ROSE.

frick Pete Rose, right smack dab in his pussy. He brought it all on himself.

Shawshank. Quote Red, "They say 'life', and that's EXACTLY what they get!"

He should get in dead.

Or when he is so old he can't possibly be involved with a team. Or reinstatement with NO chance of being with a team in any capacity. Manager (no chance), position coach, personnel, or scouting.

Rose was the type gambler, well documented, who would literally bet on almost anything, from dog racing to number of hit/runs in a game/inning, everything to do with pro & college football, pro & college basketball. Yet, he never bet that his team would lose with all the inside information he had in front of him, game to game.He only bet on them to win. Yea. OK.

He shouldn't just based on the ridiculous hats he wears on a daily basis.

And, knowing that he had a bet TO WIN a certain game, do you think it ever crossed his mind to leave a starter in a little too long? Or managed his lineup in detriment of the team but in support of his BET?

Y'all seem to think that just because he bet ON his team that he and his team couldn't be negatively influenced by that bet. Stop deluding yourself.

No he doesn't because he bet on baseball, plain and simple. You can not convince me he did not bet as a player either.

I am sure he did. Just sucks cause I loved watching him play and he is top 30 player all time. He just seemed to play the game the way it was supposed to be played. But he is just another player and rules are rules.
