Saints have struggled against the run for several years now. Seems like there are always gaping holes for other teams' backs to run through.

Bottom line is, the season is over for the Saints. Based on NFL data, there's only a 12% chance that they make the playoffs, and a LESS than 1% chance that they get home-field advantage... and everyone knows that the only way the Saints make the Super Bowl is if they have home-field advantage.

They won a Super Bowl because they paid players to hurt the other team. They don't deserve to sniff the playoffs for a decade

The defense was due for a letdown, but I don't think anybody expected them to be this bad. Like many others have said, they need to run the ball more. They are a better running team than passing team these days, the playmakers in the pass game outside of Graham are almost non-existent imo. Colston is past his prime and none of the other WRs outside of Cooks are really worth mentioning. Cooks has been great but looks to be more of a 9-10 ypc catch kinda guy not a gamebreaker who can bust a game open. Robinson and Ingram both look great.

Yeah, Ingram was completely on fire. Although they did make a nice adjustment to get the ball to Jimmy more right before halftime and he was great in the 2nd half. But not running Ingram more was definitely a factor.

All part of Roger's plan to hold down the organization. It's working perfectly. I love it when a plan comes together.

Saints have been bad on the road for awhile. I'm surprised they didn't get a split on those first 2 but I'm not shocked.

I'd say that's ironic, but then you'd just be confused.

They were always a strong candidate for regression, with that defense; if the Offense is off, even a little, it'll put too much pressure on a defense that's really a bottom 5 unit, bolstered by that offense sometimes forcing teams to be one-dimensional. The Saints deficiencies are going to show up in close games all year-- if teams aren't pushed to play catch up, they'll be able to exploit that D.

The bad news for Saints fans, is that they're probably the bad-good team this year; the good news is that they're only a solid defensive playmaker or two away from being able to compete for a Super Bowl.

They lost by 2 and 3 in OT on the road. Homefield advantage is 3-3.5 in the NFL. I don't understand the overreactions by everyone unless you are all just trolling, which it seems all this board has become. Sad because it used to be the best on this site.

As an outsider, I would have said 10-6 a few weeks ago. Now 9-7 maybe.

Get what you're saying about over reactions but they've lost games to two teams that were both 4-12 a season ago. Be honest, as a Saints fan did you expect them to lose either of these games at the beginning of the season?

Too little defense. Either they're trying to catch up or they're struggling to keep scoring when the other team can keep up because of the awful defense.

Matt Ryan is a good QB, not an elite QB. He looked like the 2nd coming of Joe Montana his first game. He looked like the Matt Ryan I know today.

ATL and NO are almost carbon copies of one another. NO just has more weapons. ATL has an awesome receiving corp. Both have bend and completely snap off defenses.

Just a southwesterner's look at the two teams.

This board seems to think people give a shite about bounty-gate or think that is a reflection on Goodell... NEWSFLASH, other fans think you got what you deserved, maybe even less.

See this thread.

Also, Matt Ryan looked pretty pedestrian against Cinncy... so, the Saints defense may just be pitiful. They will win some games, but not the team I think most thought they would be. 8-8 is a real possibility.
