High Street is the main drag in Columbus. If you drive up it slow enough the toss a diploma in your window.

tOSU, Michigan, ND.

Best job in the country. Top tier pay while producing mediocre teams and winning recruiting titles - easy pickins in Texas.

Getting throttled by your arch rival on the regular? More pay raises.

Texas should never lose more than 1 game a year.

Unlimited money, talent base, resources, program popularity, and a pretty average schedule every year.

If someone like Saban went to Texas, they might not lose for 5 years straight.

So what's the story on this? Why do UT fans put up with this? LSU has half the resources and wouldn't accept the job Mack Brown or the AD has done there.

Agree with the above poster. I'd have made Saban turn down 10 million/year. He would run the table on UT's schedule every year.

PS: nevermind, let's let the giant sleep a while longer....

OSU
UM
ND

I agree with this. ND is 3rd because of the academic restrictions, no conference affiliation (the only championship that matters in the NC), can't sign JUCOs.

All three schools can/do recruit on a national level, have similar name recognition. Both OSU and UM have had more recent success (both have NCs since ND last won one).

If I'm a head coaching candidate, i'd choose the two big state schools over ND... there's more opportunity to impress your fanbase -- Big10 championships, division titles, rose bowls, the top rivalry in CFB, etc..... at Notre Dame, there's only one thing that really matters -- winning it all.

I think OSU is a better job than Michigan because they own the State. Sparty caused a lot of problems for Michigan the last few years, but much of that was due to Rich Rod. But the point is, the fanbase in this State is pretty split. All Ohioans except some in Toledo are true OSU believers.

I have no idea if ND is better or worse than tOSU and Michigan. You have the great academics, NBC contract, and general Catholic cult following, but some of those are sort of drawbacks. And the town sucks.

Would probably be the case over 10 years ago. Admission standards have become pretty tough over the past couple of years.

Relatively speaking...not really.

I heard the median ACT is at like a 28 now? I could have heard false information.

Then there's always the regional campus route. That's how the morons seep through.

It way harder to get in now than it used to be. I think when I was looking at colleges you needed like a 3.2, now its closer to a 3.8. That's all instate though. I would think its easier out of state.

All I had to do was show up, enroll and pay but that was way back in the day.

This is ridiculous. Ohio State is one of the most respected schools in the country. You people act like it is a community college.

And I can guarantee it is harder for out of state students to gain admission than in state.
