I think people associate tanking with intentionally not winning, but I think it's more of just not spending your cap space on crappy players just to be kind of good. But rather waiting to get a potentially franchise player in the draft to build around.

Anyone that roots for their team to tank solely for a draft pick is a shitty fan.

The minimum salary floor is going to stop that though, at least for the most part.

And while it will be a good draft, the 2014 class is getting overrated.

Yep

And with all these teams letting it be known that they're tanking, I wouldn't be surprised to see the 10-14th worst team win the lottery. Just because the NBA can

Interesting approach, let's see if it pays off

I don't even think Ferry's gonna try that. he's either gonna re-tool with some mid-tier FAs that'll probably guarantee a playoff spot (I'm hoping this isn't the case), or try to maintain some cap flexibility for next summer with short term (hopefully 1 yr) deals.

It's going to be the same as every recent draft, the incredibly talented players are going to lack the skill that players like Carmelo, lebron, and KD had when they came out. Wiggins will be closer to Harrison Barnes than lebron.

We know Suns, Bobcats, Sixers, Celtics & Magic will be REALLY bad. Sources say add Hawks to list. If they don't get DH12, likely to tank

The Pelicans will do what they can to help out. We'll send out Lopez and some small parts for Horford in order to let the tank roll on.

Does this remind anyone else of the South Park baseball episode.

The best storyline to come out of this:

Can Miami challenge the Bulls record of 72 wins?

East is going to be a LOT tougher this year. We are really going to see some huge talent disparities this next season.

Nets are going to be #2 in the East. Bulls are going to be tons better. Pacers will be better.

Knicks will be ok.

Then some unprecedented suckage at the bottom of the conference.

Looks like easy schedules will lead to Bama AND Miami 3peating.

Also, how funny would it be if somehow someway via a trade Miami walks away with rights to the first overall pick? The rage would be delicious.

Instead of flopping to get the call, they'll be flopping to create an easier shot for the opponent.
