yeah i read the same ESPN analysation. but the dude can play defense. thats how he'll get the job if he gets it. everybody says daniels is a good defender but you gotta go with the youth!

i didnt get that from espn...i got that from having a fricking clue about what im talking about... marcus thorton will get absolutely abused on the block... they better have the rape hotline on speed dial... better yet, they hornets and the local rape hotline can have a promotion that everytime marcus gets buttfricked in the paint, they can flash the rape hotline number

its gonna be ugly, assuming he gets to play, but you would never admit nor realize that, bc you are a full fledged hornetard and prolly an lsu homer to boot

you can still play two small guards. there is no set size for any position

did you see what orlando did to cleveland in the playoffs? a lot of that was because their starting backcourt was 6'1 and 6'3, and the only 2/3's on their entire team over 6'3 other than lebron were sasha pavlovic and wally scerzbiak.

Please everyone stop and think who the hornets have starting now at those positions. Butler and Peja. Juju alone is an upgrade defensively, and Thorntons D improved drastically last year. Its not that much of a stretch to think they will perform better than the guys in front of them.

rasual butler is 6'7 and can make the occasional 3

marcus thorton is 6'2 and played well in a mediocre conference in college

you are vastly underestimating the jump from college to the nba

But Eddie House? Come on...no way MT5 is that 1-dimensional.

Scott thinks JuJu is gonna be our breakout player this year.

he really could vault this team if he plays well.

Chris Paul - 5'11
Julian Wright - 6'7
Marcus Thornton - 6'1
David West - 6'7
Tyson Chandler - 7'0

this would easily be the smallest starting 5 in the League and would get destroyed on the boards

i think he is gonna get physically pushed around his first year or two

its a whole different caliber of athlete

if thorton eventually gains 15-20 lbs and keeps some explosiveness, i can see him being effective

but for right now, i think he is a pure jumpshooter

i dont even know why i argue with someone who obviously just doesnt get it

post defense would be bad but as a rookie, MT would struggle just staying in front of guys like 6'5 Brandon Roy. Roy would have 5 inches on him and is just as quick as MT - if not even quicker

but you say MT is a starter then for example, who does he guard on the Lakers? Kobe? Artest? Fisher/Farmar? then who does CP3/DWest guard?

Thornton is not just a jump shooter, that would be peja and butler.

MT can create his own shot, drive somewhat, and make hustle plays on both ends of the court.

Fwiw, he was the leading rebounder yesterday...

He better be Lester or this team is in trouble IMHO. Could be wrong, it's been known to happen before lol
