Peyton needs a running game, defense, or special teams to "carry him"?

The difference between Brady and Manning in average points per game is awfully small given the difference in their won-loss records. I would conclude that Manning's teams have had worse defenses than Brady's teams being the most likely cause.
Not to mention the Patriots have had at least 5 defensive scores in the playoffs, and 1 special teams score. I don't think the Colts/Broncos have more than 1

Peyton's better than Brady in the playoffs he just doesn't have a defense, special teams and running game to carry him.

Peyton wasn't that impressive in the playoffs the year he won the Super Bowl.

Peyton's about Peyton and being called the GOAT. Brady is about winning. Give me Brady all day, everyday.

Every QB does. Thats how Peyton got his Superbowl. Peyton is 7-1 when his teams run for more than 100 yards.

I think "carry" is too strong a word. "Complement" is probably a better word.

are you serious?
i'm 100% serious. People say that Manning is undeniably the GOAT because of his regular season. They never mention his supporting cast. They don't give one ounce of credit to anyone on that team other than Peyton Manning.

He loses a playoff game and all I hear is about is his defense giving up a 70 TD pass. I don't hear about how Trindon Holliday had 258 return yards and 2 TDs. I don't hear about how Peyton Manning had 3 turnovers (2 INTs and 1 fumble).

Manning fans completely absolve his play in the playoffs and blame it on everyone but him. And when he wins, they pretend like he did it all by himself with zero help.

Who was the elite offensive talent surrounding Peyton with his Super Bowl run against the Saints? He had Reggie Wayne and a bunch of rejects that we were duped into thinking they were good, young receivers. The truth is that Peyton made them look good. Peyton had Jim Caldwell on the sidelines. Let that sink in. Neither Caldwell, nor Tony Dungy can hold Bill Belichek's jock.

What if the "tuck rule" didn't bail Brady out in his first Super Bowl run? They would have lost in the Divisional round. What if Peyton had Adam Vinetari kicking for him instead of Mike Vanderidiotkicker when they lost to Pittsburgh? When is the last time Brady's defense surrendered a 78 yard bomb with less than 35 seconds in a playoff game?

Isn't it ironic that the one Super Bowl Peyton won, he didn't play well early in the playoffs and his defense kept them alive, until Peyton heated up and led the big comeback against New England. Peyton played great in that second half and they won something like 38-35. The point is, when Peyton got help from his defense, they kept winning. Brady almost always had help from his defense.

Brady had a 52% completion percentage and 198 yards passing and no tds Saturday and won by over 20. That is "carrying"

and i'll add. Despite the rhetoric that Brady gets full credit for winning 3 Super Bowls, that's simply just not true. During that run, there was talk galore of his Offensive Line being dominate and the defense winning those Super Bowls. There was ton of talk about the help Brady got to win those 3 Super Bowls.

Manning wins one, and all I heard about was Manning. Very little about how the offensive line and their running game dominated the Super Bowl. Very little about how they finally had a really good defense to support Manning.

People are so desperate to claim he's the best ever that they can't help themselves.

Peyton had 3 turnovers in that game (2 INTs and a fumble) and got 14 points from special teams. that game is a terrible one to bring up. You find me a playoff game where Brady had that much help and still lost?
