He was also the most popular person in Los Angeles for about 20 years, and people/companies were lining up to do business with him. Magic Johnson theaters, 24 hour fitness magic Johnson sports club, etc.

Don't act like the dude went from mopping bathrooms to running a company. His fame put him in excellent position to succeed in business, and he took advantage of it.

Yeah, I like Magic. But when you're a popular person in a huge city like Los Angeles and you have a lot of money, it's easy to take advantage of business opportunities to make even more money.

what this means is that when randle, russell, and ingrams rookie deals are up, the Lakers won't be able to sign all 3.

As someone who enjoys watching the Lakers struggle, this is a banner day in the NBA.

As someone who's on the complete opposite side of that spectrum, this day sucks

So Magic decides he can be a GM and fires Mitch?

Last time I saw Magic in any official decision making position with the Lakers, they well sucked. I guess he did not learn from his "coaching experience".

Ingram, Lou Will, and Clarkson better get ready

I've been laughing at Sac the past 2 days...now I regret it. These execs are chomping at the bit to fleece LAL

Earvin Magic Johnson? @MagicJohnson I love Okafor because he's won a state championship in HS, NCAA Title at Duke and he can bring that championship pedigree to the Lakers. 6:39 PM · Jun 10, 2015

Magic does come across as a complete moron. His analysis is painful and his tweets are always unintentionally hilarious.

Maybe he's not, since he is a very successful businessman, but he certainly doesn't come across as one.

You don't necessarily need to be very smart to be a successful businessman. There's a certain someone in a very powerful position who fits your description to a tee.

Magic probably considers Kris Jenkins a steal in this draft then. He's a winner and all.
