I wonder how much money RC Buford is worth

A great Billion dollar Executive like Magic' s job to hire people underlings like Buford.

No one builds it alone.

And your point?

That just because you have built a successful business doesn't mean you are qualified to run a different one.

Magic has proven himself to be a complete moron when it comes to basketball evaluation. He analyzes like a 12 year old, and there is AMPLE evidence of this.

Pelinka I would have some faith in though. I'm sure Magic will get all the credit if successful.

And your point? Magics father wasnt worth over $100 million dollars.

Trump's father's wealth gave Donald a huge advantage in business; Magic's fame gave him the same advantage.

In contrast, someone like jerry buss started from the bottom in business and worked his way up. And since you bring up jerry buss, he was the owner, not the one making personnel decisions like magic.

Magic's billion dollar empire has zero relevance to his ability to be president of basketball ops for the lakers.

Dr Buss seemed fine .

What major transactions has Magic made for you to question Magics evaluation skills? Twitter.

Magic Johnson didn't sign Mosgov & Deng for $136 million dollars .

1)Im sure Magic has made effusive tweets about the talents of Lou Williams . He's gone

I'm sure he's said positive things about Kupchak , Jim Buss & the poor PR guy. All gone.

He clumsily tries to be diplomatic & openly nice to everyone , but just as he was as a smiling assassin as a player he will cut you open with a rusty spoon to win.

You know he was on ESPN for a long time as well, right?

He came across as a high functioning retard.

Maybe its all an act and behind the scenes he will kill it. I think it will all be Pelinka.

Dr Jerry Buss was in control of " Basketball Operations" ( Magics job) before he stepped aside for Jim Buss.

Jerry West was just GM & others like Sharman( architect if ShowTime) answered to Dr Buss .

Dr Buss signed off on all Basketball decisions until he turned it over to his son .

Now it's Magic.

I'm still waiting on the name of the " easy" Billion dollar Enterprises that Koufax , West( worked for others his entire life) , Baylor,Kareem, etc....started.

Just so easy.

I'm sorry ,but you need to deal with your inferiority complexes on your own time.

At the heart of the problem is a guy like you who thinks " I can do better/ know more than this guy" .

I'm sure you can prove you know more than Magic on the NBA fantasy trade machines , draft simulators & whatnot ,etc...........

In the meantime allow professionals/ proven executives do their job.

All of this is stupid. I do not think I could be an NBA executive.

Magic came across as stupid on ESPN and on twitter. There's no denying it, it has been a meme for a really long time.

So if hes watching a college game or whatever and fires off a tweet, "Player XYX looks good". To you and your ilk, that's an "evaluation". Then you bump his tweets like it carries any weight at all. Gimme a break you can't be this dumb, you really can't. In his current role it's safe to say his evals will go a little more in depth than they were previously when he had 100 other things besides hoop on his plate.

Safe to say he shown an ability to hire the right people across many different types of businesses.

Now Magic needs to bring Jerry West back home
bring him back and make the highest paid GM in the history of sports please

If for Jerry West there would be no Magic in L.A since as Head Scout/ Advisor he highly recommended taking Sidney Moncrief( well documented) over Magic in the draft. Thank goodness ownership wanted Magic & did not listen to West.

Bill Sharman turned over the Lakers roster to West with Kareem,Magic,Wilkes,Cooper ,Rambo's,etc. after the Lakers had already won their 2nd Ring in 3 seasons. Plus a number 1 overall draft pick.

Jerry West was lucky & outside of Kobe( who frightened other teams away) there was nothing truly inspiring about his drafted picks.

I've seen every West draft pick in L.A. & Memphis & he has whiffed hard as well. Solid. Nothing great

" Talent evaluation" isn't an exact science. West is 80 something?

Magic will be fine Chicken Little.

I re-read this thread. How the hell did the Lakers think this would work

As a MSB unit we were 99.9% in agreement this move was freaking awful (sugar71 and a few other tards whiffed), which is saying something for us all to agree.

Jeannie Buss is a fricking retard. That’s how they thought it would work.

I'm glad.

Laker fans were obnoxious during the Kareem/magic heyday.

Only thing could make this better is if Kyrie joins LeBron and they never get out of the West.
