6 /7 is the better number. 9 is a joke.

Yes, I think the privates should leave and show them what all out recruiting really looks like.

Go watch a MS Private School league football game. The competition is awful and a joke.

Privates really can't jump ship. There's not enough of them to really get together.

Public schools now on the other hand were ready to jump ship.

There is plenty of private to form an association

Yeah ok....spoken like someone who is from a private school.

Private schools have lost a lot of money because some private schools don't draw big gates for most games.

Evangel and John Curtis has ruined Louisiana High School sports....

Can someone provide a breakdown of public versus private state champs in all classifications for football?

Someone has to have those numbers.

The ones in this thread saying the private schools should break off and form their on associations and then recruit all the public schools kids, y'all are fools!

Then why not deal with those 2..

I also didnt hear anybody calling for fixing Haynesville when they were dominating or West Monroe when they dominated..or the countless other public schools that dominated at one point or another.

Y'all realize this all started when 5-4A didn't want Evangel and John Curtis playing up? Otherwise I'm not sure the split wouldn't have ever come up. Like I've said most public schools don't really care for the split but it's a way for the ones who are bending the rules to be dealt with. There's a proposal for it to all come back together but with some stipulations. I've heard of going to 6 classes with 6a being a "super class".

Scared of what? In baseball we play in class 2a and play 5 and 4a competition. Football we could have played with anyone in 2a public and private.

Your best players are going to private school. Going to be similar to IMG taking players except a lot more of them, and in your own state.

You're part of the problem... why would you play bigger schools unless you had more athletes than you should? The bottom line, and this sounds a bit communist, is that each school should have a ratio of "athletes" proportional to the total enrollment of a school. If you have more than you should, the LHSAA, charged with keeping competition fair, deserves to know why

It's because every public defender knows of a few instances where rules were skirted for their alma mater/local school and they still didn't win. The two you named are good examples of when it all works out. There are more than a few where skirted rules ended with early round exits or runner-up trophies.

You don't think the Catholic League with John Curtis and St. Paul's could survive?

So tired of the crybaby private school grads constantly whining and crying about the split. Deal with it.

Why does there need to be parity in high school athletics?
