I won't use that against him. He would still have rings, even if he were in the West. Less finals appearances, but likely zero finals losses.

I agree.

We're assuming he has all of his same teams, obviously.

Unless you want to drop him on the Spurs his entire, in which case, he'd probably have 6+ titles already.

but you're using it as a definite.
In his 3 titles years, he definitely beat 3 East teams, so yea it's a safe bet since we know he did it already.

I agree if it's the spurs yes but you continue to use best case an optimum scenarios while refusing to look at the realities if that situation. Nobody said he gets to have the same exact teams because there's no way he could've possibly done that. Dunno why I even try to have honest and logical discussions about this guy with you ppl you're simply incapable if doing it.

Dude, I'm sorry, but going to 7 straight Finals, while playing in two diff olympics during that stretch, all while never getting hurt and operating at the highest possible level, is a f**king AMAZING accomplishment. No matter how you look at it. No one has done it since Russell.

The 7 straight is an indictment of his competition tbh. He would not have done that in the West in his career.

By the same token, though, MJ never had to face a perpetually stacked West. The West champ has been the de facto favorite almost every year.

I know we say this, but in which of the last 7 years was LeBron's team not one of the two best teams in the league? It's not like better teams are sitting at home or something.

Also, for dumbfricks like PJ, it would actually have helped his legacy to be in the West. If he was 3-0 in the Finals up to this point, he'd be more revered using their logic.

IT's called a hypothetical.

Can't forget he led TWO separate franchises to 6 straight finals(atm), won 4 MVPs, averages more rebounds and assists than MJ, can play all 5 positions on the floor, will exceed MJ in his playoff records, and led the greatest finals comeback against the greatest historical regular season team in NBA history while submitting a triple-double average. He is THE Most Valuable Player in the history of the NBA based off that alone and how can anyone argue against those accomplishments that he isn't the GOAT? The MF shot better pct from FG and 3 pt than MJ. 7 verified Finals appearances in 13 completed seasons, likely 8 in 14 this season. There's the case for LeGOAT. Game. Set. Match. *drop mic*

Magic was insanely good.

He torched Chicago in the Finals, but Worthy getting hurt against the Blazers did them in. Then Scott got hurt too during the overtime game in game 3.

A healthy Worthy and they win that series as a half-arse injured Worthy was playing very well in the first 3 games against the Bulls.

Magic with any defense would be heavily in discussion as one of the greatest, but I don't even think he is better than Bird. No way Magic makes that Celtics team a 40 win better team in his first year. Bird was just nasty before he broke his back (literally) trying to do a job that he could have had a professional do in laying rock for his mom's driveway n

Lecuck will not win another title.

It'll be hard to have a GOAT case with half as many rings as MJ and 6 more Finals losses.

I agree, but I'm just asking whether or not there was a team during the run that was undeserving.

The question is if he was in West would he have gone to 7 straight finals? Obviously no.

Probably.

Completely irrelevant, but if anything, it strengthens LeBron's case. Is 3-0 in the Finals actually better than 3-6?

I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Lebron is a better basketball player when it comes to seeing the floor, passing, making teammates better, dribbling. Jordan was a better scorer, slasher, post player, and defender.

I'd take either to win. Jordan never had to play a team like the Warriors last year, ever. Best team he played in the finals were the Jazz or Suns depending on your opinion of both teams.

If LeBron shot the ball more often, he'd be held in a higher regard by his haters. That's a fact. More shots = mythical killer instinct Being a better basketball player and making the better basketball play isn't always the sexiest thing to do.
Except Jordan scores more and has virtually the same TS% as LeBron.

When you're Jordan or LeBron, sometimes being unselfish actually isn't the best basketball play.

That slackster comment I'm guessing was pointed more towards Kobe/shot volume/clutchness.

If he goes to the West in 2010 he goes to any team he wants. That's probably the Spurs.

Lebron detractors should thank their lucky stars he didn't go to the West to be on a Pop-coached team.
