Anticipation is building as the Kansas City Royals unveil renderings of team’s plan to build a new $2 billion baseball stadium.

Team leadership presented economic data and new renderings of the proposed stadium Tuesday. In January, a consultant for the Royals said the team was considering 14 potential sites near downtown for a future stadium. The list of potential sites has since dwindled down to two.

The Royals will now choose between building a new stadium in the East Village near the downtown loop or a site in North Kansas City near 18th Avenue and Fayette Street.

Royals finalize where they want it. It's going to be built right next to T Mobile Center downtown.

Stadium is only 1.5 billion. The cost rises to 2 billion after having to pay people large amounts of money to fill the stadium of a royals game.

Didn't they just remodel their stadium within the last decade?

And it looks like the fountains have been drastically downsized. Those are the most memorable things abour Kauffman and would translate easily to a new park.

I just don't get how teams/cities can justify that cost for a baseball stadium. Football stadiums, maybe, but there are limitations to what you can do and what events you can host with a baseball stadium

Lol, they raped the residents for improvements like 5 ish years ago, now a new state of art stadium?

More seating for opposing fans, especially cardinal ones

If the 2B price tag includes an entertainment district it makes it easier to swallow

Football stadiums are even bigger money pits for cities.

You have to block out like 6-7 months for only football, so city cannot draw in events, because they have to bid on events beforr knowing NFL schedule.

Studi s have been done, cities get raped by pro franchises when they pay for stadiums. The tif and tax credits alone stick it up their arse

I don’t understand why they don’t further renovate Kaufman if they want it to look just like Kaufman but newer.
