Tbh I didn't even read your post, I just responded to the most recent.. Glad your argument was so strong as to personally attack me though..

Eta: If someone came on here saying something about if this were to happen to Les Miles or whatever I wouldn't feel they were personally attacking me.. You obviously are in the same mind set as a lot of Penn State fans were and still are as they back their favorite sports teams 110% no matter what.

Okay, keep talking about me, while other posters and I attempt to have a conversation about the topic at hand

Well, you could actually respond to the post I made with a reasonable and logical response other than "but the Cardinals..."

You are the only clown that derailed your own thread. Like I said, you are a bright bulb.

I didn't care to read your response.. I did not say "but the Cardinals," my argument was, "We obviously need to take a long look at the sports culture in America today." I'm sorry if your favorite team is an example.

And you, for some reason, believe I'm saying all of this in attempt to upset you.. Bravo, sir. Not everything is about you

No, I think you got flustered reading my response which you couldn't logically refute then you went to taking a swipe at the Cardinals. You still wont address my original post, which after bellyaching about the thread getting "derailed", is pretty telling.

Just remember he protected a man who produced the rhythmic slapping of flesh with a child in a shower.

I think I can sum up how most people feel about this.

We are not denying that Paterno was a great coach. He was. Yes, we can have the discussion about him hanging out for more then decade too long just to rack up extra wins. He was still a great coach. One of the best.

We also all know now he knew something. He was faced with the absolute worst case scenario. A close friend. A confidant. Was a child molester.

Paterno blinked. He sought the easy way out. When a man that had preached the importance of doing things the right way was presented with the ultimate test of doing things the right way... he didn't do it. Penn State backed him.

No, he shouldn't have X number of wins stricken from his record. He should have all of them marked out. He preached the responsibility of athletics and then turned his back. While children were raped.

Paterno was a great coach, possibly a great man, who failed so very badly when he should not have. He made his bed, or in this case grave, now he can lay in it.

I see his family is still in extreme denial.

Only person I felt for after watching was Jerry's adopted kid.

I will say the NCAA had no business inserting themselves though.

frick Paterno for what he did, but I laugh at all the people who want to call Penn State a cult. Tons of schools are fortunate not to have a great coach who is a pedophile, because in the current "win at all costs culture," lots of programs turn the blind eye. The narrative that Penn State is a cult that is different from the other sports crazed schools is silly. They were just presented with the worst thing to hide.

Go read the BWI forums and what those twisted people say there and then tell me that they don't behave like a cult.

Every big program has delusional fans. Go read the SEC Rant.

It's easier for society to point at Penn State as the cult when in reality it's a huge societal problem in how we put sports on a pedestal above all else.

Does the Rant say things like this?

quote:

When you make light of Sandusky being falsely accused, you show us all who you are and why.

Every day Sandusky spends in jail, Penn State's good name gets dragged in the mud. But don't let that stop you from perpetuating your false narratives. We already know you for who you are.

N i t t a n y A m e r i c a

Or this gem. This moron puts his name on his quote.

quote:

Todd Brewster: "BTW, most of you are proving my point. You are convinced Jerry is a MONSTER, so you are all assuming the worse. I thought the same thing, but then I assumed he was innocent and I can see that the facts are not there to convict him. I will admit that Jerry may have had sex with someone, all I am asking for is proof. There is proof Jerry went beyond boundaries. There is proof one boy's mother felt her son's head and found out Jerry showered with her son. There is the statement that Matt said many people walked in on Jerry's performance, but left unsure what was going on. Where are those eyewitnesses today? How come no parent saw soiled underwear? You all condemn Jerry now because that is your opinion, why didn't the professionals at DPW, CYS, and 2nd Mile spot this? Jerry got convicted, because the judge and the jury assumed Jerry was a MONSTER. No one can say that Jerry was given a fair trial, but again you are assuming where there is smoke there is fire. How would any of you like to be rotting in jail for rape, because you played on a coed softball team and several of the coeds said you had sex with them and they sued the bar and sponsor and were paid $3 mil? If I was on that team, you raped me too and prove that you didn't."
