That was a good thread. Anytime 13SaintTiger bashes another poster for being an idiot, you just have to bring that thread up.

Snead > Watkins

I love how you spin it as if he said that.

The choice is obvious......

From this day forward, a gimpy Watkins averaged 100 yards per game, on 5 pass attempts. On a team that finished 31st in pass attempts.

From this day forward, a gimpy Snead averaged 64 yards per game, on 7 pass attempts. On a team that finished 2nd in pass attempts.

The choice was obvious.

What don't you get that Sammy was hurt, not playing, and ehibiting douchey behavior. And I'm still not paying top dollar in free agency for him as opposed to an average to above average receiving core with an elite QB and good pass protection. I could use that money elsewhere.

Not once did I say Snead was better than Sammy. He is not. You are spinning it as if I said that. I would say you are better than that but I know based on your post history that this is par for the course.

What are the cap hits of the 2?

That is the point you are freaking completely whiffing on. He has stated that Watkins is the better WR. He just thinks Snead is the better value.

You can figure that out.

Value was never brought up once. Now the discussion is turning to value because Sammy showed what he is capable of to end the season and showed the ridiculousness of

I mean it's as if the Saints didn't sign Jimmy Graham to a $40 million contract with not much to show for it. Drew Bree's' numbers hardly fell off without one of the best TE's in the nfl. They went 7-9 twice with a $40 Million dollar tight end.

Keep cherry picking to spin it how you want. You look stupid. I clearly stated in that thread why I would take Snead over Sammy to BillJ. You are a hack.

BillJ- "do you mean right now because sammy is injured or because you believe snead is the better player?"

Me- "Because Sammy is injured and doing erratic things. If Sammy was healthy it would depend on the asking price."

It's quite convenient how all your comments in that thread are erased

So your argument was founded on the assumption that Sammy would remain injured the rest of the season?

Great assumption.

Now that Byrd is not elite, what safeties do you think are worth an OBJ or Nuke?

If you're pulling them up, you are taking away what they do best, patrol center field. Football has massively changed, so the traditional strong safeties are basically 3rd line backers in nickle more than 50 percent of the time. Is that more valuable than a top tier WR?

that's not worst part, the worst part is they traded picks away to move up and take an undersized slot WR. lol

No. Tyrann Mathieu goes #1 in a redraft and it isn't even close.

A lot will scoff at this, but he was one pace to be in the defensive MVP discussion prior to his injury. Considering his draft slot, he's given incredible value.

I believe you missed the discussion and the posts I've posted. If I am going into a draft I'm not looking to draft a WR before I draft a safety for a few reasons:

1) If you focus on a QB and the offensive line, your offense will be just fine with non-all star WR's. Look at the past Super Bowl winners.

2) Defense wins championships. The safety position and the linebacker position are the cornerstone of any defense, either one will always be the leader in a winning team. No team has ever rode the back of a wide receiver to success, plenty teams have rode the back of a safety.

3) The receiver position is far more talent rich than the safety position. It's very hard to find an elite safety in the draft, why pass on an elite safety for an elite wide receiver.

He will be the face of the cardinals once Fitzgerald retires. Id venture to say he will end up being the highest paid defensive player at one point in his career, if not sooner than later,

I remember being so happy when MiamI traded up with Oakland. Oakland didn't have a 2nd round pick due to the Palmer trade if my memory is correct. We needed a DT badly, and Star Lout. was right there. All that happiness faded when we got DJ "burnt toast" Hayden. I wanted McKenzie fired on the spot.
