Seriously. Name one person who has called him Lebron.

well, they've became worthless, in Beasley's case, and just a role player in Mayo's case, because they are so one dimensional.

Mayo averaged 17 and 18 PPG his first 2 years in hte NBA.

Beasley is certainly capable of averaging 20ppg like he did in Minn one year. But no one wants to play him.

The names on the list are supposed to be linked to their perception coming out of college(high stock guys) to what they have become in the NBA. Is that really that hard to connect?

Dude, Beasley, Mayo, and Barnes are not not volume scorers. Simple.

That's not what I'm talking about... it's that you listed those guys as "volume scorers".

Do you even know what a volume scorer is?

Which aren't volume scores besides Barnes? Who was included more for what people thought he might become

Neither of those guys had work ethics worth a shite. I don't think Jabari has their apathy.

this happened a lot when Jabari was coming out of HS; most have backed off after seeing him play at Duke

his game reminds me so much of glenn robinson
his build is almost identical to him as well

I dont see the melo comparisons at all, he is not as skilled with the ball as melo. Melo is almost a really BIG guard, parker is not that at all

First of all, a volume scorer is a player who scores a lot of points... but takes a lot of shots to do it. Meaning, they are inefficient.

So you can figure out who is and who isn't a volume scorer yourself, but I'll give you one example.

You listed James Harden as a volume scorer, yet he has one of the highest TS% in the league for guards at 61.8%

He is one of the most efficient guards in the league, and is one of the most efficient scorers in the league. He's certainly NOT a volume scorer.

I'd say he got his reputation back after his season at Duke. He was labeled the best since LeBron by Sports Illustrated after his junior year. Then he broke his foot and gained 30 pounds when he was unable to exercise. I don't realy get how he is able to gain weight so fast when he has two thin parents, doesn't drink alcohol, etc., but it is definitely something to look out for.

Then he looked like garbage on some ESPNU games, people saw the Wiggins mixtapes, and he even fell out of some top 5 rankings.

He had a better season than Wiggins or any other freshman, so that put him back up top. Wiggins may still be a better pro prospect though.

I think Lester's group has too much range. There are some great players, good players, and garbage players. However, after watchign Jabari play 35-40 games, I can say that I think he will be a multiple time all-star, a guy who averages 20 points or more for his career, and a guy who gets a max contract at 24. However, I would be shocked to see him win a title unless it's as a 34-year old veteran playing a supporting role.

I think he will be a better Rudy Gay.

He could end up being like James Harden and becoming an all-nba first team / all-star every year. We'll see.

Harden is saved by his high volume of FT's at such a high clip.

but his FG% is pretty average, and 3pt shooting is slightly above league average.

which of course leads us to his 38%FG & 31% 3pt over the last 2 playoff seasons in which the Rockets couldn't get out of the 1st round.

I like James Harden(check the threads when he got traded) but up until this point, that's why he is on this list. This isn't a James Harden bash thread.

imo. no.

this is yes.

Bottom line is that he is a decent player. I would take Wiggins over Parker in a heartbeat.

I did that on purpose. All these guys were highly sought of coming out. Carmelo/James Harden would be the top echelon, rudy gay and maybe Mayo in the middle tier, and the rest as "busts"

Some examples of volume scorers:

Kemba Walker. He averages almost 18 points a game and only has a TS% of 49.9% and a FG% of 39.3%. Terrible.

Michael Carter-Williams. 17 ppg, 48% TS%, 40% fg%

Those are two I thought of off the top of my head.

you might wanna check some of these guys' "coming out of college" reps. Harden wasn't considered some great scorer in college, and most thought he'd be a Brandon Roy type, ie a 2 who could score and pass as well. Mayo was thought to be more of a well rounded type than a pure scorer as well.

You don't take free throws away. Free throws are points.

I'm not, bubba. But inconsistent shooting away from the stripe can lead to the type of playoff series he has had the last 2 seasons. As well as the lulls he goes thru in the regular season at times.
