Oddly enough I think Parker and McDermott are similar players

The difference is that Creighton only plays 1 team in the top 25 and thats Marquette at #25. So yea McDermott dominates teams like that. While Parker does it against other great players, like he did vs Wiggins.

And McDermott is projected to be a 1st round pick... wouldnt really call that an underrated prospect. Especially when you consider this draft class has been called 1 of the best of all time.

I agree, but I'm not sure McDermott is the best player in the country.

I don't think that is a huge debate. CJ Fair is second and by a decent amount.

I don't think Wiggins or Randle is as polished as McDermott is yet. Wiggins needs to be a better shooter and Randle can disappear sometimes.

Show me another player that will score 25ppg 8 Rebs shoot 55% from field, 50% from 3, and 90% from the line

I agree about Wiggins. Actually, I think he needs to add some pounds and muscle. That'll really help his game.

It's a little early in the season to say that about Julius Randle.

Hard to believe that McDermott and Harrison Barnes were on the same HS team in Ames, Iowa. Talk about loaded!

Well they are both 18 year old freshman only 5 games into their college career.

Please explain to me how a guy that has only played 4 games in his college career and has averaged 21pts and 14 rebs can "disappear" at times??

And I agree that Wiggins isnt a great shooter from distance right now, but hes shooting 58% from the field and 40% from 3 while averaging 19 points and 6 rebs. Its not like he cant shoot.

McDermott could very well be the best pure shooter in college basketball, but hes not the best overall player in college basketball.

Also it's not as easy to apply the whole "He plays against bad teams" to college basketball. He is the sole focus of every opponents gameplan.

If you ever actually watch him play, watch him work without the ball, its crazy to see what he does to get open.

Too early to sort out officially, but McAdoo seems poised for a big year too.

Think he'll shoot above 40% this year?

Pretty much why I don't think he is the best player. You can't be with that low of a shooting percentage.

You obviously haven't seen him play if you think this is the reason he dominates. He is the only player on that team that others focus on. In the tournament he averages 21 pts and 10 rebs which includes games against Cinci, Duke, and UNC.

Oh actually I have. Im a McDermott fan and think hes a great basketball player. Just not the best player in college basketball.

But its not like those teams on Creightons schedule have top notch athletes and defenders on those teams.

Also in basketball when teams have 1 great player and the rest are blah... they sometimes focus on stopping the other players because if that player is good enough, he will get his no matter what. When teams play the Heat they dont put their sole focus on stopping LBJ. Because no matter how you defend him, he will get his. Instead they focus on the other 4 players on the court.

Again, Im not saying McDermott sucks or anything like that. People in here act like just because some people dont think hes the best, they are really saying he sucks. Which is very far from the truth. Hes a great college basketball player, 1 of the top 20 guys in college basketball right now. But hes not the best.

Well I am a huge Mcdermott fan so I would say he is for sure top 5

Not sure how people can say Parker when he has only played in a few games and my boy Doug has been doing this for 3 years.

Consistently has shot better from the field every year.

Would love the Pelicans to get a late first and scoop em up
