his shooting range will make him a much more valuable pro than morrison, at the worst.

may never make an all star team, but he'll play in the the league for a while

he's 6'8" and his 3pt % the last 2 years

.48%
.49%

this year is shooting .53% through the first few games

at worst he carves out a niche like Kyle Korver, imo

McDermott is far from Adam Morrison. I think he is worth a late lottery pick because so many players picked there don't pan out and are complete busts. I think he will be like Chandler Parsons except an even better shooter and possibly rebounder.

The Mcdermott/Morrison comparison is lazy. Morrison was a slow guy who got most of his shots running off screens and in transition. Mcdermott is a slow guy who gets his shots in the post. Mcdermotts post game will translate to the NBA much better than a slow guy who runs off screens.

McDermott is going to be an awesome NBA role player, maybe even better.

The guy has the hustle of Tyler Hansborough paired with the shooting stroke of JJ Redick. He has some great post moves too. He doesn't have quite the length, but I actually see some Dirk in him.

Somebody in this thread mentioned Chandler Parsons. I don't see them as super similar, but I do think both were/are underrated draft prospects because they are white.

Parsons is like the exact opposite of Mcdermott. Long, fast and athletic but couldn't get his own shot.

Agreed. But Parsons is great for an NBA team. He is basically the anti-Carmelo Anthony. He just lets the game come to him. Any superstar would love to play with Chandler Parsons.

The Morrison comparison is incredibly lazy and is based entirely on two things
1) Caucasian
2) mid-major program

let's not discount Morrison in college though. He was beastly.

he didnt quite have the beef McDermott has.

but he had great touch and great body control. HE was dominant in his own right

McDermott will find success at the next level if he's drafted by a team in the bottom part of the draft that doesn't "need" him to score points. Right now they're double and triple teaming as soon as he touches it, and he's still scoring 28 a game
