The answer is always "no" until they win something.

Until they prove they won't, it's safe to assume they'll lose one they shouldn't. FSU looks like their only one left with a shot though

Is this a serious question? Of course they aren't.

before last week they were the statistically the most efficient team in the country, so safe bet to suggest they are legit.

A #1 team? Not sure. I will say this is the most balanced team we've had in 30 years. Our D is possibly better than last years and our O without Chad Morris is gimmick-free run first football. D Watson never gets rattled and is unconcerned with putting up stats or preseason Heisman talk. They're a really good team.

They are a top 10ish team that plays a wack-arse schedule. Will they make a run for a playoff spot, probably. Could they win the playoffs, probably not.

Losing @South Carolina would be the ultimate Clemsoning.

They played exactly one ranked team, a perpetually overrated Notre Dame. And they won by 2 points. They have a blowout victory against a school that currently sucks but has a big name, so the media predictably way overreacts. They only have 1 ranked team left on their schedule. They should not be allowed to be in contention for the playoffs when only playing 2 ranked teams. We will end up playing 7, for comparison.

Yes. They have been consistently good throughout the year and have an experienced and very good QB.

Notre Dame with their backup quarterback is still a hell of a lot better than a lot of other teams in the country right now...

Watson seems to be a play maker and their defense is solid. Clemson seems a lot like Mississippi State last year, except for the fact that they don't have to play an SEC schedule. I personally think they are top 3, but could easily see them blowing one down the road (like how they didn't finish off Notre Dame when Brown fumbled on the 2 late in the game).
