Flacco's never been a dominant quarterback since he entered the league, last season was the first he ever exceeded the 4,000 yard mark, never thrown for more than 30 TDs IN THE NFL'S HEAVY PASSING-ORIENTED CONTEXT!

63 more games, over 2000 more attempts.

Eli 240 ypg
Joe 236 ypg

Eli 1.56 TD/G
Joe 1.31 TD/G

Joe has a ring and a Super Bowl MVP. Eli has two of each.

They are pretty similar as long as you aren't distorting it by using aggregate numbers.

I'm sure Flacco will be a HOF'er eventually also.

Controlling for eras, Brett was definitely more superior in his era(1990s) than Eli is in his

If you are going to measure a career that way Andrew Luck is averaging 1.81 TD/G and 272 ypg, which is closer to Tom Brady than Flacco is to Eli.

I'm not measuring his career like that. Just demonstrating that Flacco is a similar player-type. On a per game basis Flacco compares very favorably to Eli. He isn't a Manning so people rightfully rate him in the second tier. If the question is who has the best aggregated stats over time, obviously it is Eli.

And he rarely exceeds 4,000 yards and never exceeds 30 TDs, which Eli has achieved 6x with respect to 4,000 and 3x with respect to 30 TDs

That's great. Joe has a better completion%, TD%, INT%, Y/A, and QB Rating.

Like Favre, his Achilles Heel is completion pct and turnovers.
Might want to check Favre's comp % rankings.

Eli's and Favre's seasonal stats are comparable
In what way? Because they both threw a bunch of INTs?

Um appears you're wrong concerning the Y/A and TD% for Joe over Eli

You are correct, got my columns mixed up. Nothing decisive in Joe's favor there anyway, which is why I think they are a similar player. All I'm trying to show.

I do agree that Eli flys under the radar. He takes a lot of shite because hes in NY.

I cant wait for him to retire and them go back to the rotating spare QB. Only then will they realize what they had

Yard amount, TDs(with exception to 1995-97), TD/INT ratio, the completion pct margin between Favre and Manning isn't vast like posters are portraying it to be(over 2%)

A QB that routinely wins 6-7 games a year except when he has a defense to stop the other team from scoring after Eli throws a pick?

They missed the playoffs four straight seasons prior to buying a defense in FA this last year.

Different eras.

Just stop. Favre playing in the 90s has better stats than Eli with today's rules

And how he handled the 2004 Draft, I've never really perceived Eli as a media darling despite that he plays in the country's biggest media market. Giants fans are incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about football, they figure out quickly when their QBs are playing erratically as opposed to efficiently.

Brett's probably the 2nd greatest QB of the 1990s behind Steve Young, 3 consecutive MVPs really elevates a legacy and reflects on his prolific play during that 3 year stretch.
