How much did Harrison Barnes cost himself in this series?

A lot of NBA fans thought Barnes would have the worst contract in the league in the first week of July, when a team like Charlotte would throw 110 million for 5 years at him.

How much will he get on the FA Market now? Obviously GS shouldn't match.

Probably didn't cost him anything. Some team will still overpay. I'm hoping it's not the Bulls. They have money and who wants to go to that train wreck right now?

I'm honestly not sure thats the case anymore.

He really shrunk not just in the finals but most of the playoffs.

I think even the dumbest teams have probably rethought the notion he can be that second star.

Some team will probably still pay him a good penny more then he is worth but I honestly don't think he gets that 23ish million max he will qualify for.

15-20 million, but also any shot he returns to Golden State. I think he gets around 90 million still, frickin Chandler Parsons got a max deal.

Parsons was so much better in 2014 than Barnes is right now, but even then, he got a modified max.

i think the salary floor is going to push so many salaries upwards that it's going to keep him really high

simply too many teams with money to burn

Worst thing of all is not just failing on the biggest stage, it is all of the wide open shots he missed. Shots he gets in GSW he won't get anywhere else

Chandler Parsons has done A LOT more to earn his max deal then Barnes did.

For one he can actually pass.

yeah and he's never shown that he can create his shot except in bursts when they used to use him as a small ball 4

people compare him to ariza, but ariza was never close to a max guy and was always the elitest of elite at D

Yep, which is why I'm hoping the Pelicans don't do anything dumb and splash on a max whether its Barnes or Derozan. Max contracts are fools gold this offseason

Ariza also showed up big in the playoffs. Honestly always kinda has. I remember his one year with my Pelicans(Hornets at the time) where he really turned it on in our series against LA. We were just really outmatched and banged up.

Thats the opposite of Barnes. He's a regular season role player warrior(no pun intended) and a post season dud.

The league is all about making open shots and he failed spectacularly

If he had a better post game or was elite defending it may not matter but he has neither

The sentiment that he coasts and disappears doesn't help him either

I don't want him on the Celtics for damn sure

i always took him as soft

he's the first ever preseason all american true freshman and he wasn't even that good as a freshman

that's never a good sign

demar is in another stratosphere from barnes

he's flawed, but he can get his own shot and has some really high + aspects to his game. he also has a cutthroat scorer's mentality

barnes is a 3rd/4th option guy on a good team

Nothing at all. Some team will offer more than the Warriors offer from last year. Wouldn't surprise me if it was the Pellicans.

I agree, my point was more that I don't want the Pelicans giving anyone a max this offseason. I hope we use this season as a mini rebuild rather than go after the few guys that are worth a max along with every other team. Get rid of the pieces that don't fit the long term plan like Tyreke and Asik and sign some smaller pieces leaving room for a max in the next 2 offseasons, which hopefully is enough time before AD wants to jump ship.

I'm still not too high on Derozan as I don't like giving that much money to a SG who can't shoot 3s in today's NBA, but I think he and Jrue could be good alongside each other as I think Jrue is somewhat similar to Lowry
