The GM poll we knew a few years ago ain't the same 'GM Poll' we're seeing now.

More like the "here, fill this out on the way to Starbucks, intern" poll.

Yeah anyone that say cbb is better than the nba just doesnt watch the nba.if youre a big nba fan then cbb is almost unwatchable.

The one and done nature of the NCAA Tourney is such a beautiful roller coaster though.

I still watch a ton of CBB and love it, but I still find it a bit unwatchable at times

Except for Aldridge who I mentioned the guys you are talking about were not top prospects(Zbo Al Jefferson Milsap throw Boozer and Marc Gasol in there too) or not in the time frame I'm talking about.

The talent is getting a little better with Davis Okafor Towns Prozingas Green Cousins and Gobert but we'll see if they actually stay healthy and keep progressing.

For players that are ready sure. But 99% of players aren't, these days every tom dick and harry that averages 10 points a game enters the draft. No one has ever stunted their growth dominating college, in terms of development there is only downside when it comes to going to the NBA early.

Agreed. The anyone can lose at any moment nature is fun to watch. Dont get me wrong, good cbb is ok but the average cbb game is horrendous for me.

You put it into better words than me. Top HS prospects like Ricky Ledo don't get enough development pre-NBA, and end up languishing on the bench & wash out the league.

Sure, some players are NBA ready after 1 year, but against grown men, most are not, and would be better served getting PLAYING TIME in actual games for an extra year or 2 before declaring.

I see both sides of the argument, it's really player specific though

It becomes difficult to compare players from 20 years ago to now because the game is simply played differently

Then

So how are you comparing players if we can't do it?

Ha we all can, and I think comparisons that span eras are some of the most interesting conversations to be had on a sports message board. I'm just saying it's difficult to do so because the game is different. It's like comparing QBs in the 90s to guys today. It's the same game, but it's played differently because of rule changes. Rule changes haven't played as big a role in basketball. Talking about WHY the league is so perimeter-oriented now, and specifically why there's been a steady influx of stretch 4s, would be an interesting discussion.

So 100 bet, this is year 1. So he has 4 seasons after this one. Deal?

You put it in escrow like Lester and I did with the Cards bet. Man up!

Sure if you want me to but I am sure the board would give you shite about it! I forget who held us but it was someone trustworthy and they paid up within minutes of the outcome, if not find an admin to do it.

And college players like Tim Duncan & Ray Allen don't stay 3-4 years in college anymore to refine their game before making the leap.

If you're physically and mentally ready for the NBA, you'd be an idiot to turn down years of far superior coaching and training programs.
