I wonder how LeBron would do in football and how Megatron would do in basketball? I'd imagine the transition from basketball is way easier than the other way around.

Look at most elite NBA players, they were most often great at high school football and would've projected as elite college players. We don't hear much about elite NFL players that could've excelled in the NBA.

Seems like if an athlete can play both at a high level, they choose basketball, which of course makes sense from a longevity standpoint.

how about yasiel puig?
That's who I would say. I mean good grief that dude is a FREAK! Incredible speed, strength, and possibly the strongest arm I've ever seen. Oh, and he's huge.

Matt Holliday is also very under-rated. He was recruited to play QB at Okie St out of high school.

Also, I know Imma get laughed at for this, but Jimmie Johnson isn't a slouch. Not a freak like BronBron, but no slouch.

He's put up some respectable times in triathlons and road races. As a matter of fact, the week before he won Daytona last year, he ran a half marathon in less than one and a half hours.

Westbrook has a good 3 inches on PP

PP was 6'1 at the combine. Westbrook was 6'3 at the bball combine and dont they do it with shoes on?? Regardless, its only an inch or 2 difference.

And PP has 20lbs on Westbrook.

I agree with Julio. 1 of the biggest freaks ive seen play a sport.

You have your obvious answers like LBJ, Megatron, PP, Julio, etc.

But what about the freak linemen in the NFL that can move. I saw JJ Watt mentioned. Julius Peppers is a freak as well.

Lane Johnson and Terron Armstead are freaks as well. Both guys are 6'6 300lbs+ and ran below 4.7 in the 40.

And even though hes not in the NFL yet, Clowney is a freak of nature. That big and that fast.... its unnatural.

Percy Harvin is up there for me as well. So is John Wall.

Brees and Luck are holding it down for the white guys. Isnt Nick Foles a freak as well? Supposedly a really good bball player.

Here's another article that talks about how in 1 game he threw a pass, caught a pass, and had to guard Megatron on defense

Thought it was pretty cool how they swapped jerseys with eachother after that game,

to me, a natural athlete should be able to shoot a basketball, throw and catch a football/baseball, swing a bat, and kick a soccer ball without looking like an idiot and looking smooth doing all of these.

i would bet you andrew luck, RG3 and russell wilson can do all of that.
I doubt many if any basketball players can play a sport other than football. Did you see the TNT crew kick a soccer ball and try to hit a baseball? doesn't give me much faith in basketball players anymore. I would say they have the most athletic skills though.

Most qb's not named Tom Brady are most likely natural athletes. While i think they are the most athletic in the definition i gave above, i don't think they are athletic enough to be really good at other sports, just athletic enough to be decent.

If i had to pick an athlete that i think could succeed at any of these sports had he been brought up playing it and training in it, i pick Kobe(younger kobe) and Nate Robinson.

The correct answer is Carl Crawford

quote:

Carl bypassed basketball his senior year to concentrate on baseball as soon as football season was over. Crawford was offered scholarships to play basketball as a point guard at UCLA.[7] He also had an option to play college football as an option quarterback at Nebraska,[7] USC, Oklahoma, Florida,.

Most qb's not named Tom Brady

Bradys a freak as well. Was an MLB draft pick. 18th round out of high school and would have been higher if it wasnt for football. MLB scouts said he would have been a 5th rounder if it wasnt for football. And he played catcher, which is 1 of the more athletically demanding positions in baseball. Scouts were wowed by his arm and his ability to hit the long ball. And all of his high school friends all thought he would be in the MLB not the NFL. Said he was a good high school QB, but was a natural baseball player and a star out there and that nobody ever thought he would become 1 of the greatest QBs ever.

His high school produced guys like Bonds and Gregg Jeffries and Dan Serafini. All 1st round guys. His coach all coached them as well. And he said Brady was a cant miss baseball prospect, more so than any of the other guys he coached.

So yeah hes goofy and cant run that well, but hes still a hell of an athlete.

I don't think most guys realize that majority of professional athletes were former 2-sport stars. There are plenty of NFL players who could have made it in NBA or mlb had they put their mind to it. And vice versa

Look at guys like Julius peppers, Jimmy Graham, Antonio gates. Former college basketball players. Just because a guy plays one sport doesn't mean that's the only sport they could play

Hell look at me in high school I was a star on them football team, I beat our state champion wrestler in a match And i didnt even wrestle(although im still convinced he let me win)I ran track two years and played soccer two years. And just to see if I could make ?the team I tried out for baseball, made varsity, and quit because I had no real intention of actually playing.

And of course im not a quarter as athletic as your average professional athlete
