The entire premise of this article is retarded and would have been equally retarded if it was used to indicate football as being more American than soccer. I stopped after two paragraphs so perhaps it became evident that the article was satire as it progressed, but if not, lol at posting this article in defense of soccer.

Disagree pretty heartily there. Soccer fans cheer good tackles, good runs, their team being awarded free kicks, corners, great set up pay, their team on the break, etc. It's not all the simple goal/no goal. Maybe Americans really need that minute or two pause in the action.

Yeah, he pretty much showed exactly why soccer fans say non soccer fans just don't understand the game.

There are tons of things going on.

And football fans ooh and ahh jukes, tackles, and broken tackles.. Corner and free kicks are the only good example you used. Of course they cheer stuff. But every things constantly resetting. You can say its not just goal or no goal, but with the exception of the rare corner or free kicks, it is.

This is completely untrue. Soccer fans celebrate a great through ball, a clever flick, a hard nosed tackle, etc. The difference is the action doesn't stop so everyone can talk about what just happened (although they do for a second). The game goes on.

This is why soccer fans get the reputation of being gay. A clever flick. How often are Lebron's passes described as clever?

Soccer is not fun to play and not enjoyable to watch.

Yea man totally. You've changed my mind and you're obviously super knowledgeable about soccer.

Pretty much sounds like soccer is too smart of a sport for you. I mean, the intelligent use of "clever", spectators cheering "non-resetting accomplishments", fans patiently waiting for something greater than a base hit. Sounds like your mind just can't handle it, which is cool. On the bright side, it sounds like you've completely found something on your level with football and baseball, so that's great, man.

No worries
