Wow that's awful

I don't know anything about who he was as a person, but Joe McKnight is the best HS football player I've ever seen in person. I was at Hoover when John Curtis came to town and Joe McKnight single handedly won that game. I think he had two TDs that were both 70+ yards. And that was against a Hoover DL that featured a 5* DT in Kerry Murphy and a NT, Josh Chapman, who started 2 years for Saban, was called the strongest player in CFB, and was drafted by the Colts. I thought he was Reggie Bush 2.0

RIP Joe McKnight. Far too young

It is unbelieveable to think that a 50 something year old man would get out of his car, scream don't f with me, and shoot a guy, twice. How, exactly was Joe F'ing with him? I mean, what could cause a person to do that.

Why is this so unbelievable? How did Joe cause the man to kill him? How about a little personal responsibility. Witnesses were saying Joe was apologizing to the TPOS man.

Nola.com is tasteless to have a video of police trying to revive McKnight.

I played some softball with a former OCS D-lineman who said McKnight jumped OVER him during a game.

Yeah he was a freak. And just so yall have some reference when I say that McKnight is the best, most electrifying HS player I've seen, I've seen guys like:

Pat White
Tim Tebow
Julio Jones
Chad Jackson (5* WR, 2nd rnd draft pick)
Marlon Humphreys
Loads of high level 4* guys

Tebow came the closest, but he wasn't able to will his team to a win over Hoover like McKnight was

Didn't he initially commit to LSU then was lured away to USC? I was so afraid of him when he was going up against the Buckeyes. I thought he was the next eric Dickerson

I watched the YouTube highlights to the John Curtis vs. Hoover game. He had about a 70 yard touchdown reception with a 70 yard rush touchdown on offense. He damn near ran a punt back, which went for about 50+ yards. He also had a long interception return.

Rush Propst had said he was the best player he'd ever faced.

Electrifying player to say the least. Louisiana legend.

RIP

When I was 9-10 my dad said his cousin would storm up to aggressive drivers and try to fight them. His cousin was tough and would fist fight whoever.

He said the last time he confronted another driver, he walked up to the guys window and asked him to get out and fight. The guy was pointing a gun at his face and he turned around and got back in his car and never got out of his car again in any aggressive driving incidents.

You never get out of your car to confront someone. Swallow your pride and hug your kids when you get home alive.

I never want to hear about how "dangerous" USC's neighborhood is again. McKnight is SECOND Trojan to be murdered in Louisiana in 10 years. Both Louisiana natives. So sad.

I'm surprised my memory was actually that good considering that game was 10 years ago

I don't remember the interception, but I was like 75% sure he also played DB but wasn't sure enough to say it.

I actually vividly remember the final play of that game. Ross Wilson threw into the back left corner of the end zone to Brandon Clear and the pass was knocked down. Thought it shouldve been PI. I remember being pissed because it was like the 2nd time Wilson targeted Clear the whole game. Clear was a 6'4 WR that went on to Clemson but it was his first year at hoover so he wasn't buddies with the QB. Instead Wilson spent the whole game throwing to a 5'10" white kid who less than a month before the game passed out drunk in a drive way and got backed over by a Tahoe, just because they were best buds.

ETA:
Probst was also saying basically the same thing I just did about McKnight since at that point in his career he had already coached against Tebow and Pat White

New Orleans being dangerous has no relation to how dangerous the area is around USC.
