Why in the frick are the Magic giving him what he wants? You're telling me Brook Lopez and a couple of late first round draft picks are the best they can do for Dwight Howard?

he's worth 18 BILLION. Half a percentage of his total worth. That's like a guy worth a million bucks buying a new tv.

And that's only from a percentage standpoint. When that million dollar guy buys a new TV, he now has less than a million. When Prokarov spends on the luxury tax, he still "has" (yes, net worth is not directly equal to pay, but for the sake of this example) $17.9 billion, or $17 thousand million or $17,900,000,000. I think he'll be okay.

Which is why they are looking for a 3rd team that will take on Humphries and Brooks for draft picks. I just can't see many teams doing that.

Yeah, that is the best they can get and that is squarely on Howard himself. These other teams know that he is a cancer on the Magic so they can lowball them and get away with it.

Exactly. It is also a form of investment for him and the Nets. Moving into the city, a city starving for a winner in basketball, he has the chance to convert a bunch of fans and create new fans with hype alone. The guy wants to win and Vegas thinks he may. Last week the Nets were 200-1 to win championship now it's 20-1.

I'd say it's more of you either get something now or nothing next year thing.

It's that also, but in terms of what they can get in a trade, there is no way that a 7-footer who can't rebound and 2-3 first rounders in the 25 area equals a Defensive Player of the Year frontrunner every year who is still very young

Or Bynum or Horford straight up?

couldn't quite do Horford straight up, but they'd get him, probably Teague and a pick or 2. IF Dwight was willing to commit to the Hawks, which he's not.

also, Bynum won't commit to resigning with the Magic.

How are they *sees username* Oh right, nothing to see here.

Also, if Dan Gilbert tries to help get this trade done I will drive to Cleveland and kick him in the nuts. Dude was very vocal about wanting the CP3 to Lakers trade blocked.

of course it's not equal. the magic cannot get equal value for dwight

hell, even without his issues, it's pretty hard to get equal value for a superstar

I think his and Cuban's issue with the laker trade was they would be getting cp3 AND shedding salary in the deal. Didn't want to lose out on that luxury tax money.

And for the hornets, thank god that trade was blocked.

Cuban's problem was the league owned the Hornets so it was really the other 29 owners that were going to have to pay for the trade. Cuban then decided it would be a good idea to trade a 1st round pick for Lamar Odom.

Gilbert mentioned the Lakers getting the best player and shedding salary. It was stupid because the Lakers were looking to move Odom to clear cap space anyway. Paul and Pau made about the same this year, so really it wasn't like the Lakers were going to shed a ton of money.
