The Magic have suspended Dwight Howard trade talks as they search for their next head coach, according to sources.

Orlando had been engaged in trade talks with the Nets, Lakers and Rockets on a trade involving Howard.

Rob Hennigan informed Howard that the Magic attempted to make a deal, but none of the offers met the team's asking price.

Brian Shaw, Mike Malone, Lindsey Hunter and Jeff Hornacek are amongst the candidates to become the next head coach of Orlando.

The Nets were up against a deadline in their negotiations for Howard due to the unresolved free agency of Brook Lopez and Kris Humphries.

I just want this shite to get done once and for all.

Count me out on this one, I don't want Howard to get what he wants here or the Nets to be able to sign him. I'd rather see Dwight somewhere else. Let him go to Houston, Dallas or Atlanta. I will actively route against him if the Nets get him and I don't think that will ever change.

Well at least it also says the Cavs would try to trade him for more picks? That's the brightside, i guess...

You would think if Gilbert was that Butthurt about the Lebron thing that he would dick this trade in order to stop a superstar going to a "super team" or whatever

Well maybe Gilbert thinks the Nets with Dwight could beat the Heat. I don't think so though.

Someone is really willing to give up picks for that bum? I'd rather trade for their fricking waterboy.

Wait, so they are giving up a first rounder to the Magic to gain more draft picks with Humphries? That doesn't make sense

The currently proposed deal will include 11 players, cash and multiple draft picks. Orlando plans to talk to other teams before signing off on the trade of Howard to Brooklyn, according to sources. Cleveland will help facilitate the trade by taking Kris Humphries in a sign-and-trade while receiving additional compensation. The Magic will receive Brook Lopez via sign-and-trade, along with multiple first round picks. A deal could be fully agreed upon by the end of Monday.

How much is Prokhorov going to be paying out the arse in luxury tax in the future? I know they can afford this year and next year, but man that is going to be expensive.

It's something like 110 million over the next 4 years in luxury tax. The moral of this story, and it's one overseas soccer fans have already learned, is it's always nice when your team is owned by a shady Russian billionaire.

On a side note, it's gonna be interesting to see who all the Lebron haters root for when the Nets and Heat meet in the playoffs, considering Dwight has exhibited every trait they claim to hate Lebron for and then some

It just seems to me that Orlando could do better than Lopez, even from the teams like Houston that are willing to do a one year rental. Lopez can score but is an absolute poon on the boards. Why not take a chance on Motiejunas/Lamb/White, or Kmart possibly if they need to take him on? It would get them from out of the luxury tax and give them multiple, cheap pieces. Or Bynum or Horford straight up?

he's worth 18 BILLION. Half a percentage of his total worth. That's like a guy worth a million bucks buying a new tv.
