Do you not agree that if he played in Pittsburgh his entire career that he wouldn't have received nearly as many accolades as he's received?

Is this a joke?

Ripken's top 3 seasons at the plate were:

.323/.374/.566 (.940 OPS)
.340/.368/.584 (.952 OPS)
.318/.371/.517 (.888 OPS)

Chipper's top 3:
.319/.441/.633 (1.074 OPS)
.364/.470/.574 (1.044 OPS)
.330/.427/.605 (1.032 OPS)

Ripken had 2 seasons with an OPS above .900

Chipper had 11 seasons with an OPS above .900

You are comparing the OPS of a SS of the 80's to a 3B of the late 90's and early 00s. You are also ignoring the gigantic gap in fielding ability.

learn some baseball.

If Jeter produced as he has, yeah minus the Championships which help any player.....

Jeter has been a great player and one who isn't hated among the media/rival players which is part of the reason he and Mo have received such a sendoff

Agree, different positions and eras. Could have thrown OPS+ in there to control for era, which would still be a big advantage for Chipper.

No. Schmidt Brett Boggs Matthews Robinson are top 5. Chipper is 6th or 8th depending on whether we include Cabrera and A-Rod

Yeah, I went off on a bit of a tangent there. I agree with your main point that Jones is Top 3-5 at third.

Look, If Jeter is a "first ballot" Hall of Famer, then Biggio should have absolutely no problem getting in which, judging by the fact that he has for four years, he has had problems.

Biggio probably should of been.....
However at the end of the day Jeter has played a more glorious position, for a better team (one he has been very important too), and he has compiled a lot of important stats.

Biggio isn't in mainly because of Bagwell and Caminiti in my opinion

Biggio isn't in because he didn't play for the Yankees, Cubs, Red Sox, etc.

Played in a better lineup in a more hitter friendly Park for the most part.

I do agree that Jeter is better, but if Jeter played nearly any other city, he's lobbying to get in, and sure as hell isn't first ballot.

If it takes Biggio 5 yrs to get in, it would take Jeter 4,depending on who's up against them.

Not really. If Biggio had the exact same numbers but played for a media darling, he's in on the first ballot.

and Biggio didn't? He played with Bagell, Caminiti, Derek Bell, Berkman, etc plus studies have shown that line up "protection" is overrated and not really a thing....

again this is just stupid, you are looking at a guy who is a top 10 All-Time SS who is about to finish Top 6 all time in hits. Had he done this in San Diego or Pittsburgh he is still a first ballot HOF player
