Barnwell is a horrible, horrible writer. He is almost as good to fade as PJ is with his picks

I don't read his picks. His other pieces on the NFL I think are very good. The one today about the Texans and Bucs QB changes was excellent

That's 3 things idgaf about

This is like deliberately stepping into a sandwich shop solely to tell everyone inside you don't like sandwiches.

And I will buy that book in a heartbeat

People keep saying "How can Simmons leave ESPN and lose his platform and his $4 mill per year salary?"

Dude can probably score a $4 million advance on his book alone and crank it out in 4 months. Hell, he's probably got it half-written

I think that "Finally I Can in Peace" and "Book of Basketball" were both #1 for quite a while and neither was cheap - retail of about $35 apiece.

Because sandwich shops are places where the goal is to share ideas and engage in discourse?

Everything he predicts or opines on is flat out wrong. Not just his week to week gambling picks, but his season picks, directions of franchises, etc.

He's also got a very subpar personality for his radio podcast.

The only thing he is good at is tracking and recapping poor coaching decisions in regards to down and distance and clock management. That's it.

If Zach is an A+ NBA writer/talent and Jonah is an A- MLB writer/talent than Barnwell is at absolute best a C- NFL writer/talent.

There's a difference between debating the propriety of different sandwiches and saying IDGAF about them. The latter is not discourse.

It isn't discourse if you're dismissive of it. A simple "Why?" could get the ball rolling.

frick a bunch of Mike Golic. I'm sure he's jealous of Bill Simmons. "Why wasn't I asked to produce 30 For 30 episodes? Why didn't ESPN give me Grantland to run?" Do your lame arse talk show, eat a Johnsonville Brat and STFU.

take it how yall want it.
Simmons hasn't played a professional sport yet is on a pregame nba show. No credibility.
Same for Wilbon and screamin a smith.
Golic is a bore.
Espn is the mtv of sports.

So do coaches that didn't play the sport they are coaching have any credit?

Hate this thought process.

There are plenty sports journalists, Vegas insiders, and sports TV producers that watch more games and know more about sports than some old dumb athletes.

I was listening to Mike and Mike when they were calling out Bill Simmons. I knew he would say something about the segment. I'm surprised he didn't say anything about how Greeny tries really hard to be a trendy prick by saying hashtag this and that.

Bill Simmons' EWING THEORY 101 is one the best sports columns ever written. He has "issues" no doubt' (big fat ego), but that column was brilliant, in the concept (attributed to his buddy), the scope and breadth of knowledge of basketball in particular and sports in general it demonstrated, and how, as is his way, he tied it all together referencing pop culture. Mike and Mike together couldn't write one sentence half as clever, given six months time and a sports almanac.

Grantland to Mike and Mike is to .... I can't even.
