Particularly surprising given Sheets' path to MLB. Backup SS in high school who didn't emerge as a pitcher until late in high school. By then he had a lot of life in his arm because he wasn't used much.

My boy plays on this team. ben is a good dude. great group of kids and parents. we play 4-5 tournaments in fall, then start back up in Feb.

usually play with a roster of 11, but one boy is on the shelf, so we play with 10. kids are from all over the state, plus 2 from texas this year.

played 90 games at 10s and played in a WS in Cali, same as 11s and played in Elite WS in Orlando. Heading to Cooperstown and Orlando this year.

amazing experiences... for the love of the game.

I see no problem with this unless you're forcing it on the kid. In fact I think it's great.

No dues or fees. We pay our own way. Given obvious logistical issues the boys don't practice together often just meet on weekends and get after it. Most boys get private instruction.

Travel ball is a great place for kids that can't play other sports....

Just read through other posts in thread. It's true the 12u competition is mediocre compared to other states. This is why we travel to super NIT tournaments and have faired quite well against regional teams from MS TX and FL.

Next year will likely be it given other sports and school ball. Absolutely fun while it lasts.

Well thankfully kids and coaches love travel ball and love helping kids get to play college ball.

You're obviously bitter or don't know shite. Which is it????

Thanks for the input Mr. Travel Ball Coach.

My oldest two boys(now 16&15) have had the same experiences and both of them, myself and wife have absolutly loved it. We have won major state a few times and been to Cooperstown when they were 12,and elite ws in Orlando for seven years running. Never won either but finished third in Cooperstown and in top 4 at elite. My guess is anybody complaining has never had these experiences. The only issues we have come upon is the extreme let down known as high school baseball. And if your kid plays league ball he has almost zero chance of making his school team. It just doesn't happen anymore.

JJ27, we finished 9 out of 32 last year. Team from Cali won it all 2 years in a row. I kept having to remind myself how young these kids were. Amazing talent everywhere. Baseball skills and IQ very high.

Last summer I watched a Texas team win 12u @ ESPN @ Disney. Must be talking different age groups?
