who is running the ever living frick out of the ball this year
The problem for them in the past is they haven't been able to grind out a game when they have to. They had negative rushing yards if i recall against MSU last year. They aren't wired to grind out a game.
People say Oregon and OSU play the same, and perhaps they run the same concepts. However, OSU will grind the F out of anyone they can, and did it against multiple good teams to close it out last year.
Baylor won't get the benefit of that until they are able to run against a team who knows it's coming

They are averaging 750 total yards per game and have blown out a bunch of shitty teams, so they are racking up a bunch of rushing yards in the second half of games. their rushing ypg will drop as the season progresses.
It's like someone said, Oregon spreads it to run, Baylor spreads it to throw.
Baylors offense is a thing of beauty no doubt.

Florida (twice), Auburn, and OSU have won titles running a spread option offense like Oregon's
that's half the titles the past 10 years
I don't know if anyone has corrected you yet but Oregon has been a stretch option team, they mostly reach block. AU, and all of Urban teams pretty much combo to backer on every play besides their powers and counters. Very seldom do I see them try to block guys to the sideline. They may run out of spread looks but it's basic power football.

Nevermind I see that you corrected him. I saw Cam run midline and veers from the gun while at AU. Just because the formations are spread doesn't mean it's the same scheme. Urban punches teams in the mouth.

Read the article I posted earlier in this thread.they beat Bama because of outside zone concepts taken from Oregon.

Oregon and Baylor both more resemble Gary Pinkel's Missouri offense in the late 2000s than any Urban Meyer team, even if they spread the field. It's like about a decade ago in the NFL when they basically called every offense "West Coast" or "a variation of the West Coast." At some point people started calling teams West Coast because "they throw the football a lot."

Here to bust up the "Big 12 doesn't play defense" myth
If you follow my posts in the bet thread you know I model and compute my own college football statistics. One stat I have is "adjusted yards per play" which is basically yards per play adjusted to the strength of the opponent
Adjusted Defensive Yards Per Play National Rank:
Oklahoma - 6
West Virginia - 22
Baylor - 24
Oklahoma State - 26
TCU - 34
On a per-play basis its not bad. Of course Big 12 teams will allow more points, they have to defend more plays and possessions on average than other conferences
It's like comparing raw PPG averages in basketball to a team that plays against teams that run Princeton offenses vs. teams that play fast and lose offenses.

How is their schedule sorry arse?

Their out of conference portion of their schedule is pathetic, year in and year out.

I actually thought Darron was an okay QB. He didn't have a pro arm nor did he have to make much reads. He also played with Jeff Maehl as his leading WR. I thought his feet was what doomed our offense. He was never really a threat to run. He ran a 4.8 40 years dash at the combine. I remember yelling at my TV in the Auburn game for him to RUN!

I'm pretty confident that if you guys had Mariota or even Masoli as your qb in 11 you would have beat auburn.

Sorry baw. You are wrong. Watch the Bama game last year that is not a HUNH spread offense like Oregon has been doing.

Well, Baylor is Oregon South with all their lack of identity and multiple uniform combos

Oregon sucks so you decide to make a thread about Baylor to make yourself feel better.
That's pretty much how I'm reading this.
