Atlanta is one of dozens of cities that have been asked whether they are interested in hosting the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The United States Olympic Committee is reaching out to cities that have previously expressed an interest in the games, as well as the cities in the largest 25 U.S. markets. The letters went out to a total of 35 cities, according to a New York Times report Wednesday.

Oh, this will be good.

Ready for ALL US cities to be named before Atlanta.

Chicago / New York / Birmingham are the only cities capable of pulling it off.

frick no. They never should have gotten it in '96 either. Give it to a place like Paris, Toronto or NYC instead.

Isn't that how every city gets it, basically lies and bribes?

I believe so. Pretty sure a lot of people were surprised Chicago didn't get the last bid for just that reason.

Houston will never get it.

- shitty public transit
- too hot for the athletes from moderate climates/ unless they ran the summer Olympics in March.
- IOC almost demands outdoor stadiums(Houston made a bid on it about 8 years ago and that is what Houston reps were told.)
- about 10 other American cities that are more deserving.

But Houston's local diverse populations is the only thing going for it.
