DeAndre throws it down like nobody I've seen before at his size. Yes, he's a freakier athlete than David Robinson.

Yeah. The idea of 2014 saying "frick it" with the 92 bigs, going small with Durant/James at the 4, and bombs away is pretty enticing. Don't know if it would work, but it would be a hell of a lot of fun.

You counter that with Robinson, Barkley, Pippen, Jordan and Clyde. Pippen is the point forward and remember this is 1992 ripped up Barkley.

Jesus, man. You're predicating everything on the fact that he dunks hard.

I guess that's what makes one person a far superior athlete than someone else. Clearly that's your only criteria here, so I'll bow out and laugh from a distance.

You posted a picture of David Robinson finishing a dunk against a guy who didn't even jump.

Wilkins wasn't jumping? look at his teammate for point of reference. He wasn't at peak, but he was in the air

The Knight dunk wasn't as impressive athletic feat (for NBA players) as you think it is.

Not that he dunks hard, but that he gets up so high and has very long arms and he's big. That matters when getting up to grab rebounds, change or block shots, protect the rim and play defense.

92 Shaq was also a better athlete than DeAndre

That's a win for the modern team if the 92s go small, I think. No way they can matchup down low, but a fair shot if they can turn it into a perimeter game.

Curry/Russ, Harden, Durant, LeBron, Davis vs that lineup is a hell of a game. Barkley can't guard Durant or LeBron. The modern team has to burn LeBron on Barkley, so Jordan will murder which ever guy guards him. Robinson would eat Davis up on the block, but Davis as a dive man in Pace/Space would be nasty.

We need a time machine.

Patrick Ewing would dominate these fools down low. he would eat AD or DJ alive in the post. too big, too strong, too skilled.

Ewing is criminally underrated in this thread. he was the total package.

he would have won several championships but the dude had one kryptonite

meh. doesn't change the fact that's it's more athletic play. David just does makes it look easy.

and before you start throwing stones, you're the guy who thinks DeAndre Jordan belongs on the same court as Robinson and Ewing.

I'll admit that I don't keep up with basketball nowadays but I can't believe someone is making the argument that the current team would win based on some guy that I've never even heard of.

That would be a foul on Jordan in today's game.

What high schoolers are running sub 9.9 in the 100m?

That's ridiculous. That Robinson dunk was just a standard dunk on a fast break. Nothing particularly noteworthy about it at all.

Let me know when you can find a gif of Robinson doing things like this:

MJ would light them up from 3....... Even Magic could light it up from 3 in 1992....

You are so wrong here.....

No. Lebron is still better.

Judging by the downvotes to the OP, there are a lot of nostalgic old fricks on this board

Magic was a 32% 3-point shooter and Jordan was 27% in 1991-92.

For reference, the league average this year is nearly 35%. Last year the league average was 36%. Magic would be below average using today's percentages and Jordan would just be bad from beyond the arc.

As another reference point, Kevin Durant is shooting 40% from 3 this year.

Nope.... Magic makes players around him MUCH better. Bron does not....
