I have been looking forward to this one as well. Isn't Jim Mcmahon not all there anymore? Or having serious memory problems? Correct me if I am wrong.

1976 Steelers... Gave up 138 points and after A 1-4 start they won 9 straight and had like 5 shutouts during that span.... They didn't make the SB losing to the Raiders in the AFCCG playing without Harris & Blier.........

The 2000 Ravens were the best statistical defense in history. They gave up something crazy like 2.5 YPC for the season. The Bears were a more dominant defense though in terms of big plays and dictating the game.

The '76 Steelers were uo there too, they gave up 28 total points over the final 9 games of the season and had like six shutouts.

Meh....I feel like this team has been pretty well covered. I don't there are any new revelations tonight.

I have always wondered how they only won one title though, maybe they'll discuss that.

The 86 87 and 88 teams were really good but lost all three years AT home in the playoffs... They could have had a run for the ages.........

Well, McMahon was slammed on the hard Soldier Field Turf by a Green Bay LB and injured his shoulder and Walter Payton was on the decline in age. fricking Redskins knocked them out in the playoff with HOF (Green) running back a punt return.

eta: Yes, fricking Charles Martin ruined McMahon career with this late hitLINK

Buddy Ryan leaving also appeared to be a big blow. I mean I'll watch this show tonight but I've seen their episode of the 85 Bears on Americas Game a handful of times already.

Buddy is not doing well health wise (I think he has Alzhiemers)/cancer...he lives on a horse farm near Lexington in Lawerenceburg.

Doug Flutie was just on local radio talking about this. He said the coaches had no faith in Fuller or Tomczak when McMahon got hurt in '86, so he had to come in at the end of the season and try to QB a team of massive egos as an outsider.

He said there were a lot of cliques that believed they were the reason they won the Super Bowl. He also mentioned locker room fights over endorsement deals. Not to mention Buddy was gone and free agency began to hit them after '86.

I remember a few threads on here after the '07 BCS game when idiots were claiming LSU could have beaten NFL teams in the 70's-80's. The first reply was about the '85 Bears not allowing them to cross mid-field. Some goofball responded that the Bears didn't have anyone to cover Brandon LaFell and no one that could block Glenn Dorsey.

the sort of revisionist history going around Chicago is to blame Ditka. he's still revered, but people think he was too interested in doing commercials and not interested in being a coach. i'm not old enough to know if that was true.
