$7 mil for Lou Will is a good deal on a team where he fits. He doesn't fit in LA right now.

I think he will be a great scoring punch off the bench.

Miami has to pay D Wade or they become known for not taking care of their superstar players. That's one of the worst reputations a franchise can have.
I know what you're saying but looking at the Heat front office/coaching staff of 'Zo and Juwan Howard (whom the acquired late in career, after the NBA nixed his first attempt to join them in the mid 90s) says otherwise. Tim Hardaway was working with them as well for awhile before he joined Detroit.
Zo even left and came back into the Heat fold.
At this point next year I expect Wade to either take a long term deal for less yearly cash or bolt.

Not nearly a Kobe contract.
D Wade brought them 3 championships and has constantly taken discounts to make the team better. This is his first ever contract that was over 20 mill and it's only for ONE year..
Kobe never took a pay cut and when he was starting decline he asked to be the highest paid player in the NBA for 4 years.
Don't even compare the 2 situations. Completely different.
and also.. D Wade is still averaging 21/5/4 on 47% shooting.

I'm not talking about what he's done in the past. I'm talking about the present.
Is DWade making more than he's worth in the open market? Is he a 20 million dollar player for what he will do on the court next year?
also, DWade played 62 games last year.
What's his role on the offense now?
Dragic has the keys to the team. Wade is now a secondary ballhandler and cutter, who's attempted 200 3point shots as a shooting guard in the last 3 seasons combined. James Harden and Klay Thompson each attempted 550 last year.
Hell, Kobe who's played 39 games in the last 2 years has attempted 200 3point shots in that span...and he played 6 games two seasons ago.
This today's NBA, you got to have shooting. If Dwade athleticism is declining-making it harder for him to get to the rim and FTA. He can't shoot 3pointers(28%)-which is why he doesn't shoot them-a smart move by him
What exactly are you paying him 20 million for next year, on the court?
If you had to guess is Wade going to have, statistically speaking, a better, the same, or worse year than the 2014-15 season?
FWIW, I'm playing devil's advocate here. I think the Heat roster in the East is good enough paper to get them to the ECF.

He's absolutely making more than what he's worth now, but if they don't pay him what he was worth Miami isn't getting any more superstars any time soon. That's not worth it for their franchise.

Dumb post. Wade is not a shooter but still had a great season last year, everyone knows he isn't playing 82 games at this point.
And he is owed money by the Miami heat for opting out of his last contract. They can tell him to get fricked but they aren't going to be able to do much more with his cap room next year and it would be an awful message to send to superstars.

I don't see what him making 3 pointers has to do with anything. He's still averaging 20+ points at a very high percentage. Who gives a shite if they are 3s? that's irrelevant.
And no. He's not worth 20 mill a year but 20 mill for ONE year for how much he has sacrificed for them is definitely understandable. he deserves it and it was something that most likely had been understood for a while now. It's still nothing like the Kobe deal.

It's very relevant. How you score determines strategy.
Does spacing matter in the NBA?
Do you expect DWade to be better, the same, or worse, statistically speaking this year?
If Wade is losing steps, will he continue to be productive at the rate he is now, without a reliable 3 point shot that extends other guards careers?
Wade is the third option in Miami next year, behind Bosh(the centerpiece) and Dragic.

I would expect him to be about the same next season. He quit shooting 3s because it was less efficient for him. Him and lebron both stopped shooting as many 3s after their first season together and it led to the Heat having one of the most efficient offenses every season.
As he ages, obviously it will be better if he can just be a spot up shooter but as of right now as long as he can still hit 20 pts a game at a high percentage it is completely irrelevant. And he is only getting paid 20 million this one season and don't see his production dropping off too terrible much just after he went 21/5/4 last season. Your acting like this contract is a 4 year deal and he's already become a shitty offensive player. Dude is still a scoring machine.

Lakers are doing everything they can to give their pick to Philly

Lakers fans, need your thoughts on the following three:
Lin, Hill and Wesley Johnson. Three names that keep coming up for the Mavs (Lin likely to be a Mav here soon)

Just received word that the Bulls may be sending one of our players to LA within the next week or two.

Here's the scoop:
All I know is that the Bulls would obtain Lin and Hill. No word on who the Lakers are getting quite ye

Lin and Hill are both free agents.
They both planning on doing a S&T for whom though?

Seems like that guy is the only one reporting that. Everyone I see is saying Lin to Dallas, plus Lin says he likes Dallas the most
Also looking at Cory Joseph. Would love bringing in those two a lot more than retaining Barea

I'm not acting like Wade is a shitty player, I've repeatedly how stacked Miami is on paper. That includes Wade. I don't think he's worth 20 million dollars at his age and with skill set.
Well then logically speaking if his production is about the same, should he get 20 million next year?
All this being said, if Pat Riley has a plan, I respect it. Guy is a basketball genius.
I expect the Heat to ask Wade to take pay cut next year to lure KD if they can get him and re-sign Whiteside.
Wade should have less FG attempts this year, btw. With Bosh,Whiteside and Dragic all together for a full season.
I don't expect him to average 21 pts a game next year.
