Meh, that roster was terrible. No matter how good those youngsters end up being, rookies don't win games in the nba.

and? the point is that we were still adding talent no matter what. d'angelo and julius, while still being a bottom ten team in the nba, would still get us out of the bottom five. as seen by last year, when we barely were able to hold onto the fourth worst record in the NBA. so yes, we are bringing on rentals and filler pieces, but we are rounding out our team with players we hope we can keep on the bench going forward because we werent going to keep this pick anyway. getting a top 3 pick is fricking hard and shite happens, just like this year with NY. so you cant just hope you end up with a top 3 pick and just forgo trying to make your team better

My only complaint would be is a lot of the guys don't seem like building blocks for the post-Kobe era. They feel like a stop gap to avoid being a bottom 5 team for a year or two.

Now if they go out and sign one or two top 10 players in next 2 FA periods my complaint becomes pointless

well there was no real way we could go for the post kobe years. we are putting that together with d'angelo, julius, and jordan. for the immediate post kobe years, i think lou williams can play a role. and maybe even roy hibbert if he can keep doing what hes doing to protect the rim and just not want a stupid amount of money

I do. I wish he was a better 3 point shooter. That is my biggest criticism. He is awesome in pick and roll, and he is a great defender. He was very solid the end of last year, and he will be playing with a better supporting cast this year.

Reggie Jackson is definitely not a great defender.

In his half year with the Pistons, he came A LONG way in that category.

If the Pistons were good enough, maybe I could pop around every once in a while to say Reggie hasn't changed. This one game is all the evidence I need.

I don't mind if you want to act dismissive. Just something to ponder.
