How many miles did you get out of the first engine?

Bought it with 46K, died at 94K.

If we stay on top of the oil, it should be fine.

94K miles for an engine is turrible, assuming you changed oil at 3K intervals.

At what point do you raise cain with Chevy for making such a pathetic vehicle?

I had a 2011 Chevy Silverado that used 2 qts of oil every 3000 miles. I was told by the dealership that it was within acceptable tolerances as per GM(veh had 13000 miles on it). I told them it was not acceptable to me. I traded for a 2012 F150 the next day.

If I am not mistaken, doesn't the Equinox have a 5 year/100,000 mile power train warranty?

Exactly. My 1999 Lexus has a low oil light indicator. Why a 2012 vehicle would not have this is beyond me.
