Life Insurance Coverage/Cost

I'd like to take a quick survey of those who have life insurance. I am in the process of getting some quotes and would like to make sure I am not getting screwed.
Can you include the following:
Type (Term/Whole)
Age/Health
Length (10-20-30, etc)
Cost (Per Month/Year)
I know for the most part that YMMV with life insurance, but I just wanted some ball park figures.
TIA

I can promise you, you will get screwed.
Why do you think you need life insurance?
eta: I think there are valid reasons to have life insurance, but its definitely not something for everyone.
I personally have a 500k policy through work, I am 41, I pay $20/month for it, plus the 250k policy I have on my wife.

And I just checked and its $12/month, not 20. Its 20 with the ADD in there too. I have awesome work benefits though.

Husband has 2 term policies. He's 45. Perfect health.
First policy is 500K for 20 years. $355 per year. Protective Life. Must have been about 35 as I think we're halfway through the 20 years (Just recently had to look at this for something else)
Second policy is 1 Mil. for 20 years (I think). Yearly is $1200. Through Woodman of the World. (Had to get this for his business). This one was hard to find coverage for but I'm not sure why.
ETA: I have $500K, age 46, started it much earlier and then at 36 we "redid it" to start the 20 years over. Also through Protective Life and it's term. Perfect health; my premium is more like $425 or so per year due to family history.

I have a return of premium policy that covers me until 66. Should I die wife gets $250k, if I live I get $68k. I pay about $185 per month.
I have a simple term policy on wife. 30 year $500k costs about $47 per month. She is 36.
