re: Boat party in Islamorada ,FL. - Jp1LSU
Most of the sandbars are land regardless of the tide. Obviously the amount of land changes with the tide. It's places people congregate Mostly on the weekends. In general the water is very shallow outside of the boating channels. It wasn't a surprise, these people do this every weekend....

re: Boat party in Islamorada ,FL. - Jp1LSU
In the keys all the boats tie up at sandbars. It's our version of the beach. In KW area snipes, Boca Chica, Marvin key, women key, are all packed on weekends. ...

re: What's more important, SEC the reg season champions or winning the tournament? - Jp1LSU
As others have said the regular season demands playing at a high level for a longer period of time. Not every team puts the same emphasis on winning in the SEC tourney based on their situations. Great to win both. I like that CPM seems to put effort into winning the tourney, and I don't mind t...

re: Have you ever had someone scoff/question how much you tipped them? - Jp1LSU
At Mcsorely's in NYC the bartender/server would often tap his hand with the other hand and say more. I had seen him do it many times. I heard one guy say, "ok how much then" and he responded with "whatever you think is fair." ...

re: Question for teachers re: Social Media/Facebook. - Jp1LSU
Do people really give second graders cell phones? I was very mature and wise beyond my years at that age, but most children do not need cell phones.
This has been debated on OT 100x. But at 2nd grade we would leave our/a cell phone with our little one if we were going to leave her ...

re: Question for teachers re: Social Media/Facebook. - Jp1LSU
A lot of teachers I know from various states have no FB page that the average person could find. A drastic alias or no FB at all. Where I work most teachers do have FB, Instagram, and even snapchat. I don't friend students on social media other than school related (google classroom, remind, etc). ...

re: Moving out of Baton Rouge.... Zachary or Prarieville/Gonzales - Jp1LSU
I really don't see the benefits of being so far away from anything. The idea that Zachary or Prarieville has a better quality of life seems insane to me. I don't live in the area anymore, but I can't imagine wanting to live in the places you mentioned....

re: Would it be a bad idea to try to pay off my mortgage at this time? - Jp1LSU
I'd need about $10 million to retire at 50 years old. Say you live to 90 years old, that's 40 years of no active income. That's gotta be worth $4 million right there. For most people they spend twice as much as they normally do when not working. I fall into the camp that thinks paying off a mortga...

re: Anybody ever use "Name Your Price" option on Priceline - Jp1LSU
I used it a lot back when I was in college. That was a while ago. I used it for flights and hotels. Stayed in NOLA using Priceline the night of bacchus for like $100. Drawback on hotels is they only usually have one bed. Often worst room in the hotel. You don't pick the hotel. Flights they can b...

re: How Do Drew Brees' Kids Attend School? - Jp1LSU
Here in the keys we get a lot of families where the parents don't work or work seasonally and the kids come to school for a few months every year and then they go somewhere else. I know of kids who split up their school year in 3 different states. Lots of times families have houses in multiple place...

re: Has anybody ever had a book published? - Jp1LSU
Because of the advancement of technology the industry is 100% different than what you and several other poster have said. Most publishing is done by POD companies. Print on demand. They can publish a book one at a time or per order so that there is no wasted costs with printing 5k copies that don...
