$50/month for each kid into the 529, both are under 2 years old. Feel like i need to be doing more than that though

Can money put into a 529 be used for private elementary/middle/high school tuition (not college)?

Just had a baby last week and need to do something.

I'd like to have 200k per kid when they graduate high school for college, if they don't use it I'll treat myself to something

$2,600/yr/child - $100/check per child in to a roth.

My goal is to have about $75k per child. If they need more than that to get a literature degree from some private college, they're on their own.

Scholarships will be stressed so dad can go get that red convertible and hair plugs with his children's education funds.

529, less than $100 per month per kid. It's mostly to satisfy my wife; I don't think the tax benefits of the 529 outweigh the costs of having the money tied up. At the same time I don't feel strongly enough about it to start a fight

I think $500 a month would be pretty close to 200k in 18 years

$300/month for our two year old's 529 plan. We currently have around $22,000 in it. I'll make large contributions a few times a year.

Set up your plan by yourself or with the help of a trusted financial adviser. Don't let an adviser set it up your savings plan because they'll take a percentage of every deposit and there are upfront costs.

State 529 plan $200 month per kid. Got started kind of late and the 14 year old has maybe 30k. Fortunately I have enough income to pay cash and some RE to sell if it gets that bad LOL.

I will cover 4 years tuition, room and board in an in state university. The rest will be on them. I had two jobs at LSU and parents only paid for my first semester.
