[link=(http://www.irs.gov/uac/Employee-vs.-Independent-Contractor-–-Seven-Tips-for-Business-Owners)]LINK[/link] This may be helpful from the IRS. When in doubt, I'd recommend you hire all employees and withhold their taxes + pay the 7.65% freight in employer SS/Medicare. If you have a tax advisor...

re: GEIG Stock - Boh
Looks like a reverse split 1 for 2,500. Would mean the per share price could have changed from <.0001 to 0.18 or so with a lot less shares outstanding. ...
Would ending the USW strike face any effect on SDRL?
Not sure on that one. Trading this morning it's down another 50 cents to $8.62. Maybe we haven't seen the worst yet....

re: Seadrill (SDRL) has a yield of 0%. - Boh
Well, SDRL approached $10 and just dropped past it. Now $9.66. I'll probably buy 100 shares by the end of the week. All the bad news gives me pause, but I'd consider it a 3+ year investment. ...

re: Anyone here use TurboTax? - Boh
It's pretty straightforward and easy to use. I've been using it for 5 years now and I recommend it to everyone. I pay about $30 for the federal return with itemized deductions and I file the state return for free at the Dept of Revenue site. ...

re: TAF funds related to season tickets for football - Boh
Different rankings used for upgrades vs away/bowl tickets. Lifetime ranking takes into account all your years of season ticket "donations" and is used for away/bowl ticket requests. Philanthropic ranking takes only philanthropic donations to TAF (ie no ticket donations) and is used for seaso...

re: Home Insurance - Increased premiums - Boh
House was built in 1980, we bought in 2010. ASI was the cheapest option for the hurricane deductible of $1,000 that we wanted. Just need to shop around and see if anything would be better. Haven't had a claim on the house but like you said maybe whatever discounts they were including have gone away ...
