Is that Air Asia

It is on Air Asia. Thanks for the advice on Agkor as well. I had heard that about buy tickets to get an extra free evening.

Do you know anything about Koh Chang, Trat Province area? Mine main concern is how nice the beach and water will be. I found an awesome pic online and IamKohChang guy said it was photoshopped, haha.

We should lobby Chicken for a Thailand Board when we all get back and we can be the admins.

They sure do love to photoshop the hell out of Thailand pics

I just peruse the Tripadvisor pics. Of course, bad pic quality can swing the pendulum the other way.

I'm going to be paying for a wedding and the venue (one stop shop) doesn't charge a CC fee. I'll probably be putting roughly $20-30k ( ) on a card. What is the best card/promo to look for to take advantage of that type of spending in a fairly short period?

I'll probably do the Southwest 50k signups for 2k twice for companion

What else should I look for?

Is the wedding venue a major hotel chain? If it was a Starwood I'd be all over that due to the Starwood property multiplier.

If it still is a hotel though that codes as such, I'd make sure I used something from UR/ThankYou/Amex Rewards that had a travel category multiplier.

But ya, if its not a starwood/hotel chain or hotel at all and therefore likely no multiplier over 1x, I'd definitely use a flexible transferable rewards program card for my spend like the ones listed.

Lucky you, my inlaws paid for every thing through us but it was almost all cash based. Sucked.

Unfortunately it isn't. I tried hard to push for this angle.

Inlaws basically gave a budget but we get to keep the rest. I advocated "courthouse" budget wedding and buy a nice house with fund as downpayment + rest for savings/emergency fund.

Unfortunately that isn't going to be how this plays out. Not at all

The Amex Gold 75k point offer is still floating around with a 10k min spend or the 100k Amex Platinum with 10k spend.

SW companion is a good thought.

Chase Ink has a 5k spend.

I did the same as any rational male would.

Nope, it isn't. I will say I had a heck of a good time though.

This picture was on the same google search as the one above. I figured I'd share as it's a better picture and belongs in a CC rewards thread.

Do we need to change the title to add NSFW now? hah

Naaaa, I like to imagine some employee trying to explain that they had no idea that photo would show up on Page 165

I know I will, I just don't think I will have a $30k+ good time. It is her money though and I have no claim. Somewhat related, I made a powerpoint showing her monthly income and spending by category. I may not have to worry about a wedding going forward

We had mixed our assets once we were engaged. While from the possessor/legal/headache standpoint that may not be a good idea, I knew we'd get married. In any event, mixing assets and budgeting is definitely hard at first for some.

I don't know how you define "$30,000 good time" but I will say this, if done right, $30,000 guarantees pretty much you will at least have a good time. I see why celebrities and rich folk throw $30k parties all the time. When I go out to have beers or what not, I enjoy the conversation but I can't say I always come home thinking it was better than staying home all night or worth the $100.

If I had the money, I'd drop that a few times a year. "Making memories!"

Just got a nifty little paper mailer for my Citi AA card. 10 purchases of $15 or more for 2,500 points if purchases made by September 30, 2015.

Nothing crazy but I'll take it. Perhaps there are bigger offers out there for some of y'all.

ETA: If I could figure out how the hell to enroll

ETA2: I'm an idiot. Says so right on the letter.

In any event, I just might pay my auto insurance in 10 $15 increments.

I'm biased so I wanted to ask some other opinions since a friend is asking; what is the best non-airline branded cc to use for air miles? I think it's the SPG Amex because of the 5,000 mile bonus, but I know shitty United isn't 1:1 like the other airlines are with it.

Is there something else better out there?

It's either that or an Amex with MR points that you can transfer out with bonuses attached at certain times of the year.

Another thing I like about the SPG Amex is the low annual fee. Being attached to Starwood hotels isn't bad either

Dis some bullshite. I'll call to cancel when it takes effect and see if they waive it. Right after I pimp the card out they gotta go and ruin it by being like every one else

Just reading that it comes with no foreign trans fee finally. Boingo is a good add-on. Who am I kidding, I'm not going to cancel this card. It was just that much better when the card had a cheap annual fee though.

CITI best buy card did something similar a few months back.

4 purchases totaling over $20 and you got a $25 gift certificate.

They also recently gave a $50 gift certificate if you spent $500 over two months.

Both were easy as shite to get. Bought coffee a few times on the first and paid home utility bills for the second one.
