Chase sapphire Reserve

I'm just curious as to how many of y'all are liking the Chas's sapphire reserve card. I saw the comments in the rewards discussion but it's sort of had to follow. I currently have the Barclaycard arrival+ elite MasterCard and I'm thinking about making the switch to the reserve.

Love it. Wife and I both got it before the honeymoon. (Which we booked 8/10 nights with Hyatt points and our flights on united points ) On the honeymoon we easily each got the $300 travel credit back already. We now have over 250k UR points to go on another badass vacation. Earn rate is great for restaurants and travel at 3x.
I'll be closing the regular Saphhire card now and we'll now keep one account active as our permanent cards (one account, plus authorized user) so long as we chase keeps up the $300 travel credit.

My wife and I each got a CSR and are using them currently for most spending to reach the spend requirements for the 100K bonus points.
I also have the Barclay card, and I'm thinking of switching from the Barclays card to the Freedom and exchange the 2x to the 1.5x to move to all Chase rewards.
I've not had a chase card before, so I don't yet know how the rewards points really work yet.

Best card I've ever had. Just hit my bonus.

Off topic.
How was your time in cartel land? If you get the time mosey over to the travel board and give a write up.

I compared the earnings I would have on the reserve if I had it for the past year vs what I got with the Barclaycard and it is just about even, but that's not counting any value per dollar increases due to point transfers or any other perks you get with the reserve. Good to know you all seem to love it

Got my mother on it and she loves it. Think she hit her bonus already. I'll probably jump on closer to my london trip.

Youll find the consensus across most sites ranks it as the best card. Get one if you can. I can't wait to see what the other banks do to compete.

Like the card. Especially the 100k pts. We got first travel credit within days of making purchase.

Love it. Wife and I both got one and have already used my sign up bonus for a trip to London.

I have a question about this card. I just read the fine print but didn't see my circumstance spelled out.
I am getting married in January. Is there anything preventing us from each getting a card prior to our marriage and essentially being able to each get the 100k bonus? Seems like we could pull it off. I wonder how we could go about finding out if we could combine our bonuses once married? We are planning a trip to Ireland next June and this would come in handy.
Thanks for any information anyone has on this situation.

You can both apply individually at any point including when you are married.

Well signed up and got the approval, ready for it to come in and start utilizing it.

What's the benefit of this over the Sapphire Preferred?
Posted on 10/30/16 at 8:46 pm to 0jersey
This isn't a "1 per household offer", if that's what you're asking. As long as you and the wife are different people, you're each entitled to the bonus.

We each got this card separately. Want the 200K points to see what all the MT board hype is for Chase Rewards.
$900/annual fee - $600 travel credits makes it palpable.

I would like to know this too b/c I'm currently thinking about switching from the Preferred card. My wife and I put almost all our spending on the Preferred Card which averages out to about $3500 per month. What really turned me off about this card was the additional $75 fee to add an authorize user. With the amount of money that we average per money do y'all think it's worth making the switch from Preferred to Reserve?

Yes, at least for the first year. That 100k bonus offsets any amount you pay for the annual fee (the $300 travel bonus each calendar year also helps). YMMV when it comes time to renew.
There are no shortage of write ups on CC blogs that will talk about the differences between the two cards and how they compare.
